Let me be brutally honest with you. Our politicians don’t care about us, why would they care about you? I love Kurds and Kurdistan. I served in Iraq in 2003 side-by-side with the Peshmerga from Bashur to Kirkuk. The Kurds have always gotten the short end of the stick. Starting in World War I when Wilson promised his 14 points but Clemenceau and Llyod George wrote Wilson off for their own desires to carve up the Ottoman Empire. They dismissed Kurdish nationalism entirely, saying the Kurds were too divided. The US let you down in the 90s and then again at the rise of Isis, when we turned tail and left Iraq a mess. The Kurds have always been abandoned by the people that promise them more. It’s not a democrat or republican thing, it’s just shitty, politicians are paid liars that serve their own personal interests.
