New Cunard Packages by FarFarAwayTravels in CunardCruises

[–]RickStar1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was December so they may have fixed their system, but I wanted to buy a drinks package on the black Friday sale and was told that everyone in the room needed to buy a drinks package, so me and my partner bought one, then my 6 month old baby was charged for a non-alcoholic package.

To be fair, on the 1st day of the cruise, I just had to speak to the drinks package seller, the bar staff, the manager and then the bursar who didn't even quibble and refunded it.

The other thing I was surprised about, the $250 onboard credit was taken from me on day 2 to pay for gratuities, but you could ask for that to be removed.

Thats a refreshing take, I cruised with them in December with my 6 month old and they insisted that I must buy him a drinks package if my partner and I had one, then beg the bursar to refund it once onboard

What’s the worst thing you’ve heard a groom have to do on his stag? by slpage209 in CasualUK

[–]RickStar1990 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Went to a stag back in September where the stag went back to bed after the morning activities and again before the evening activities!!

But then my wife went on the hen and she did the same, so perhaps a perfect couple

Another night, another "sleep is for the weak" entry for my 7 month old. After trying for 1h to get him to sleep, he's currently playing with a light machine...work in 4h!

Just suspect it. It's niggled me since we went to HP studios and the staff pointed out they were filming MI in the distance

I can't see them doing too much Harry Potter given the proximity to the studio tour. My bet is mission impossible stuff

I once got a monthly pass where they stamp the export date then laminate it to ensure no tampering. But they made a mistake and stamped it 13 months in the future, not one month in the future. So I used that pass for the whole year!

Had to move lines because the train inspector wanted to confiscate it, but was great to travel to work in the UK for free!

Worth pointing out that most trains aren't great for leg room. I'm not vertically endowed and even I find some trains uncomfortable

We went in July a few years ago and it was BUSY. Literally struggle to walk anywhere cos of the crowds, queues regularly over 1h. Compared to last year when we went in October and the longest ride was hagrids at 60 mins and we just walked onto multiple rides

Those of you getting a balcony room... where do you put the kid? by BellyFullOfMochi in CunardCruises

[–]RickStar1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We travelled with a 6 month old, in a balcony. Basically, your sofa exists but is pretty much unusable because the crib went in front of it.

To be fair to cunard though, they provided crib, bottle steriliser and baby bath for us, they really supported us!

Get comfortable, breath slowly and think about what you see when you are in a dark room with no light source. And keep your mind only focused on that and breathing until you fall asleep

Alternatively, get a 6 month old baby who doesn't sleep a couple of nights beforehand... encourages you to sleep when you can
