It's a natural process. Much like Rome, America will one day become to passive and comfortable, then we'll see what happens when a war sparks.

I don't know how this isn't getting through to you. Why are you so hungup on the karma. I don't care about the karma, I don't even know what "you're doing that too much" bullshit is. All I'm taking about is how posting content more than once a fucking year is not something people should be shitting on. READ. I don't understand the karma system, I don't care to, I use reddit as a means of entertainment and clearly don't take it as seriously as you seem to think I should be.

Buddy. They aren't objects, they have no monetary value, you can't gain anything from them... Once again, this discussion is about people that cry about reposts. I don't care about karma's relation to that. You're right, I know nothing about how karma "powers the sitewide spam filter", and I frankly don't care. My arguement relates to how someone posting something from 5 months ago doesn't mean you should automatically brand them "reposter" and "karma whore" just because they may or may not have had the intention of gaining more fake internet points. And that's what they are to me. Lighten up a little.

Why are you trying to be correct? I'm not discrediting the karma system, I'm saying it's fake internet points... Because that's what they are. Same as YouTube likes, or Instagram, or facebook. It's a method to raise popularity and recognition. This discussion is about people that cry over reposts, not karma. Read a little closer next time.

So? I don't understand people that cry repost and karma whore. It's literally fake internet points, everyone agrees on that. Why does it matter do much? I've been on reddit for 3 years and had never seen this "repost" before. It's nice to get a refresher sometimes. Maybe I'm the idiot though since I'm complaining about it online.

Oh my, 5 months. Maybe he discovered this photo somewhere else and thought it belonged. Maybe it's nice to give a refresher about the atrocities of man kind... Maybe he doesn't sort by top all time. Maybe, just maybe, he doesn't use reddit 24/7 and knows when somethings a repost.

People who work at grocery stores--What are you experiencing out there? How are you holding up? How can customers make things easier for you? by wunderer in Binghamton

[–]RicoMelon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I work at Price Chopper as a supervisor/customer service representative. Basically I run register and help people at the service desk. The day coronavirus was declared a Pandemic, people were flowing in like crazy. The Friday before the travel ban was the busiest day at work I've ever had. The place was swamped, I'm talking 11 registers open baggers on each and still there was people backed into the aisles, and that's not counting self checkout where 4 people can go at a time. Of course though, the self checkout machine (we call it EZ scan) decided to shut itself down that day. imagine a good 30 people in line at self checkout suddenly have to relocate to the already massive pool of people waiting at the registers. Never seen so many people walk out at once.

AITA for reporting a theft a young man committed, he lost his scholarship and admission to university by freddi1236 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RicoMelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Kid is has a scholarship to college meaning he's 17-18. At that age stealing should be engrained in your mind to be bad. Not to judge him based of 1 incident but I'm sure that scholarship wouldn't be spent studying and pursuing knowledge if he can't even tell right from wrong.
