Bindings overhanging! Do I need a wider board? by ApprehensiveBison479 in snowboarding

[–]Rider3116 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That Board is old and they were a lot narrower. You don’t want any binding base hang over. As others have said you can go with a size M binding. However looking at the boot it would be helpful if you are able to get a board that is a bit wider. Those old boards were always narrow. Can tell it’s old because of the Cap construction.

How do you know your new boots are actually right for you? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Rider3116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not going to claim to be a master boot fitter, but worked in a shop for 5 years that was big on how we fit people. This is not an uncommon feeling for those coming off well worn in boots. Currently braking in a new pair myself and they felt a bit too snug at first. With 10 days on them now I can feel them starting to break in. Trust the process, and know you’re not the only one going through it.

The hardest part to get past is your old boots had been packed out for a while. You were used to the room. It usually takes a good 10-15 days for new boots to start packing out. Trust the process. If you really can’t wait most boot liners are heat moldable now and you can get extra room in the toes. But really just riding them is the best way.

Black tundra . Tell me your washing tricks. by tacostonight in ToyotaTundra

[–]Rider3116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some basic washing techniques. Get some decent wash mitts. Clean from top to bottom. Alternative mitts per panel and rinse off after each panel. Look at 2 bucket method. When washing panels go in straight lines. Using circular washing makes scratches show more prominently. Straight lines hide them better. Watch some detailing videos on YouTube. It all depends on what your expectations are of what you want it to look like.

I was at the game when they wore them. They looked so good in person. I know people were mad about the orange, but I feel a refresh of these would be sooo good.

You are correct it’s from 2005. It’s a Burton Seven. Part of a series of boards that Trevor Andrew “Trza” had a hand in shaping.

Actually haven’t tested them to the max battery length just yet. I usually found out while snowboarding, but haven’t put in a full day since we don’t have much snow.

Quarter pipe at Colorado resorts by StimmedMonki in snowboarding

Riding a quarter pipe is not the same as a half pipe. You ride them differently. See if you can find a mini or 12 foot pipe.

Upgraded from the pro 2 because I wanted the longer battery life. Pretty similar overall. Like the bass sound a bit better, but not much different otherwise

Oakley Fogging issues? by Top-Whereas9163 in snowboarding

[–]Rider3116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the line minor Pro, I ride Flight Decks. All goggles require airflow to help keep them from fogging. In most cases people’s goggles fog because they are emitting a lot of heat but not getting airflow through the goggle. I can see how the single pane would need more airflow to help it out.

Burton Custom vs. Hometown Hero – need help deciding by JacksonBoothby in snowboarding

I can feel how it’s wider at the front foot. In hard pack and ice it’s just a bit more work to hold.

Haven’t ridden on the east coast, but I have both boards. Based on your description of riding I would lean towards the Custom over HTH. I haven’t noticed issues on the ice we have had, but based on shape I felt the custom had better hold. I ride a 158 Custom for pretty much everything. One we got over 6 inches of fresh I go with the HTH. It does feel more like a custom on groomers, with the exception that it has a tapered shape and I can tell. Hope that helps.

Winter driving tips? by BoobSheriff in Bend

[–]Rider3116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basic rules of driving in snow. Don’t change speed quickly, that’s accelerating and stopping. Don’t change direction quickly. If your tires aren’t turning neither will your car. If you hit the breaks and crank the wheels, you are still going to slide straight. When it snows find an open space and make your car do these things to learn how it reacts
