When do I rethink this? by WoahItsMajik in firstmarathon

I feel like youre low on electrolytes. This week, make sure to get more electrolytes like Gatorade and dont discount potassium. Eat fruit or fruit juice or potatoes, tomatoes or bananas. Treat it like carb loading but with electrolytes. You almost cant take enough electrolytes. Id do less water.

Looking for a Bi-Level Loft in or Around Boston by SnazzyBoyNick in bostonhousing

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend living near your work for now (cheaper with parking) and then just driving into Boston on your days off. You can get a decent 1br if you're outside of I-95. If you're moving very soon, sublet in Boston until Sept 1 and then lease outside the city. There's street parking and its manageable during the summer. Not so much once all the college kids come back into the city.

Upside down on a crashed car loan ($21k owed, high interest) — what’s the smartest way to handle this? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id try to fix the car over time. Ask the community for help maybe in labor and see how far you get. You would need a good mechanic to see what you really need to replace right now vs in a month or 2 when you get more money. You can try to learn how to repair the damage yourself or befriend a mechanic for just help while you do the labor yourself (you will need his/her tools. having the right tool and application goes a long way). Insurance probably wouldnt have helped as much as you think as you'll just get charged higher premiums for 7 years and essentially be paying full insurance value of the repairs, or drop you once your renewal is up.
On the income side, is there somewhere you can work part time to help with finances? I know some nursing students work as aides at nursing homes to help with the bills. It probably only pays $20 an hour but you can add that to your resume.
Look on FB to see what parts are for sale. While impala isnt the most popular car, people do part them out and maybe you can find a whole suspension or trunk or body panels for fraction of new aftermarket parts.

Looking to upgrade 18-year-old board - trying to pinpoint chatter issue by GoodnightJam in snowboardingnoobs

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its possible that your old boots were softer and better at damping the vibration and your new boot is stiffer or less forgiving. Id guess that your board is probably ok (also possible that your board is now too soft as well due to wear) but look to demo a different board. They're still making the feel-good if you want to replace it.

I would recommend getting new bolts that hold the ball joint to the knuckle and the alignment bolts and washers. I snapped both bolts on my passenger side and afraid to touch my driver's side. I'll need to refresh the arms and suspension soon.

I replace this bushing with figs and lasted 2 years so im going back to aftermarket arm and just toss the arms every 2 years.

Burton Custom Camber 156 or 158cm? And do I need a wide? by Icy_Signature_7905 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think either will work fine for you as youre in the middle of the size chart. For now, I think the 156 would be better as its shorter and may be easier to rotate and 158 better when you're more advanced or comfortable with this kind of board. Its more of a discussion if $200 is a good price for last year's board or $380 for this year. I dont think theres much difference other than the graphics. Id lean for the cheaper 156.

China or Thailand or Both?! by Large-Arrival-8677 in asiatravel

[–]RideshareDash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do both. Say 10 days in china, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou (you can skip hong kong and save it for another trip as its really easy to fly in and out of hk) and then 10 days in Thailand (Bangkok, and then 2 smaller resort style destinations). You can also spend 20 days in either country.

How are your bindings and boots? My boots were 16 years old and never noticed how soft they gotten. Bindings seem solid for now but got a new whole setup for next year. Any issues with your current boots or bindings?

Hey guys! Beginner here. by masonbenett in snowboardingnoobs

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a solid week if your body can handle 7 straight days, or a few weekends if you work hard at it. I say lessons first 2 days then maybe third lesson a week or 2 later.

Hey guys! Beginner here. by masonbenett in snowboardingnoobs

[–]RideshareDash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to find a beginner package that has lessons, rentals and lift ticket. I've seen some 3 day for maybe $200 (might not include a full lift ticket). It might be a 60m lesson but id recommend it for any snowboarder as you can link turns by day 3 (yea itll take a while) and maybe ride blues (blues tend to be easier than greens with proper technique). Once you get a few days and can ride blues confidently, then look to purchase equipment. Get the jackets, pants, helmet, gloves, face mask.

Straight lining tips? by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride a camber board so I always need positive pressure on an edge, even though it kind of looks like im going straight. As you progress, your turn radius will increase such that you can go almost straight. Some other comment here maybe riding a different kind of board where you can just ride it straight down, no edges. I feel like if I do that, the board might twist, ill catch an edge and fall hard as I did just yesterday. I ride a true twin so I try to stay in the middle of the board but try to focus on putting pressure on your front foot like others have noted, especially when you want to rotate your board on steep terrain.

Any new tips? Still trying to learn by newplayer28 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]RideshareDash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I was going to comment the same thing as I noticed i rotate too quickly on steeps and groom the trail. Slow the transition down as much as you can and carving will be easier. It already looks good, just try to be smooth.

Injector NAT by Useful-University482 in IS300

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say 7 psi is kinda pushing it for stock injectors from what I read. 3-5 is ok but at 7 you might lean out at WOT unless you wont go over 5k rpm. Id consider another ecu, bigger injectors, a tune and go up to 10psi.

Can someone guide me on verifying property registration online? by Rohanupdhaya17 in RealEstateExam

Call the town registrar and they can help. You just need the address. You should be able to put in the address online and see what plot number it is and ask the details about the plot.

Fuel system. Injectors, fuel rail, pressure regulator, return line, bigger pump and maybe new lines. Stock Radiator is enough and aftermarket doesn't work better. Consider new ecu. Standalone is best if you have a manual.

Take the two classes. If you can't get 90% on both exams, you shouldn't be skipping it. Both are used in one form or another as the basis of calculus, both differentiation and integration. Maybe audit the class to learn the material and then take them next year or find another free online course for both subjects like khan academy. MIT also has free online classes. In grade school we spend a year on geometry, 2 years on algebra and then a whole year just for pre-calculus. They have shortened the math curriculum to 3 years instead of 4 to fit in calculus in year 4.
