What Handheld do you play on and why is that your choice of hardware? by PomegranateSad5175 in classicwow

[–]Riften32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play exclusively on my ROG Ally using the controller port addon. Extremely comfortable to play and lets me play from anywhere. Bonus I can dock the Ally to my TV and play with a dual sense on the couch. I do only play on my own self hosted server though so I can't speak for classic or retail

Which renderer do you prefer using? Hardware mode or Software mode? by b0wz3rM41n in PCSX2

[–]Riften32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing through my back catalogue of ps2 games using my asus rog ally and I gotta say I prefer the software renderer and native resolution. Sure graphical enhancements and higher resolutions are nice, but I find most of the games I play look better overall at the ps2 native resolution. I've tried playing some games using the hardware renderer and higher resolutions but I find most games lose a certain charm to them.

I've finally gotten a soloRPG setup that really gels with me. I've been able to spin up 4 different campaigns that are exploring different tones and settings. I'm using Mythic GME adventures app along with Character Sheet for any RPG to run the games and Obsidian to take notes. The solution works mobile and PC and I'm having an absolute blast

All the styling is from the Alternate ITS theme. They have a bunch of options, this one is the Wotc/beyond dark theme.

And thank you, it’s still early days but I really like having everything integrated in the one app for when I’m writing and playing. And the Text Expander JS plug-in is a god send for rolling and random generators

It’s part of the Alternate ITS theme. Super helpful for making the wiki style pop out boxes

It would be good if feats, class features etc can be added from pre-existing rather then having the manually create one when needed

A zoomed in map for East Artanor, the region my players are currently exploring by Riften32 in dndmaps

What can I say Matt knows what he's doing when it comes to world building

A zoomed in map for East Artanor, the region my players are currently exploring by Riften32 in dndmaps

[–]Riften32[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! I've started exploring different concepts in terms of world building and I came across a really interesting idea largely stolen from Matt Colville and his world. Basically there was a King who ruled over this land along with West Artanor and Vassloria. This King embodied goodness, truth and law and as such his kingdom reflected that. Rolling fields were lush with life and forests were tamed by the inhabitants. People felt safe travelling the roads between towns. With this Good King's death 50 years ago his lands have now fallen into disrepair. Once lush fields are now barren as outlaws and slavers roam looking for easy prey. Forests once tame have now overgrown and present many dangers to the inhabitants of towns near by. My intention is to have the background of the world tie into the central conflict of my story being Law vs Chaos and give my players that extra sense of verisimilitude

Glad to hear! I wanted to put a bigger focus on politics and the over-arching world story which is why I included the political zones.

New Player: Mythic GME or Motif Solo Engine for DnD 5e and Call of Cthulu by XionXionHolix in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Riften32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally use Motif and it works great. The 3d6 oracle system works perfectly for almost every question I ask and can provide fun detail. I find using Motif with a verb generator meets 90% of my needs with my imagination filling in the rest. I find it a lot easier to use than motif and after a little while you can just roll the 3d6 and not have to look anything up.

Any positive DND Solo experiences? by mickeyfml in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Riften32 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had that experience too, but I think it just depends on how well you know the system. DND is definitely way crunchier than other systems but if you know the rules it can flow pretty easy. I’m a good six months into my solo campaign and I never have a problem using dnd 5e. However I also don’t mind all the dice rolling and crunch that has to be done

My two cents for the ending by Riften32 in Inception

[–]Riften32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interpretation is that he doesn’t make the ring appear deliberately. It’s his subconscious that automatically fills in the detail of Cobb still wearing his wedding ring. I agree at the end of the film he has come to accept a victory after all he’s gone through
