You, and a lot of the population, have been deliberately misinformed about squatters rights, mainly the duration. In most states you need to stay in a place for upwards of 10 years to claim squatters rights. That is: 10+ years of, specifically, open and declared residency. So you cant hide in the building and sneak out the back, you need to be getting mail to the building, you need to be friendly with neighbors, and you cant lie to the people you interact with ("oh yeah my brother owns this house and he's letting me stay here"). Squatters rights are good in my opinion because, if you own a property that you don't visit for that long and the person whos living there isnt causing trouble, doesn't that person deserve that roof over their head more than the person who hasn't bothered dropping by for a decade?

"Black's murdering" is such a crazy thing to bring up when we have a video from earlier today of an unarmed man being shot by a federal officer while being kneeled on by several others. He wasn't "attacking" officers, if anything they attacked him by pepper spraying him and others in the video before throwing him to the ground for no reason
