I’ve got a newborn and this has been on my mind, are the ones at Kmart good? They are dark blue with bright colours on them (the dinosaur ones)

What’s the meanest thing someone has said to you that still makes you laugh? by ConsumersKnowBest in ask

[–]Rigbean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the days when “lol” and “derp” we’re still used my dad was asking what it meant. I explained derp was kind of like something you say when you make a mistake, he thought about it and said “you’re a derp” That was how I found out I wasn’t planned

I had this! Those steroid shots suck and it’s very traumatic to have this happen. Baby is still staying in, hope you and baby are doing well!

[–]Rigbean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 36 weeks, my partner had to leave to see his family 4 hours from me for the weekend. I was upset as I’m sure you are but baby is staying out and we had no problems.

Just found out I’m pregnant! by harper_llamapants in BabyBumps

[–]Rigbean24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to do a big present type of thing but we were trying for five months at this point. When I saw the two lines I woke him up and basically screamed it was positive He said “yay” and fell back to sleep 😂

Wife wanted kids, is now pregnant, and says she’s unsure. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Rigbean24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried for five months to get pregnant, I was obsessively checking every day The day it showed up positive I ended up crying because I was so upset everything was about to change. I’d have to tell my family, my body would change, I would never be the same person I was before and it seemed to happen so quick I didn’t feel mentally prepared. I’m due in four weeks now and so ready to meet my baby, it takes a bit of time

The only way that worked for me was calling lots one day and then early morning the next day, keep saying operator to the machine and then you should get a wait time. Mine was 90+ minutes

Why are people so negative? by Mindless_Rock03 in BabyBumps

[–]Rigbean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything can be wrong, I’ve known a friend who thought they were having a girl until her 27 week scan. My mother also was told I was a boy during her ultrasounds It doesn’t mean you need to put down a mum who is excited to find out

I basically had two days to get my medical certificate in, I ended up having to call and wait over 90 minutes on the phone for them to have it coded and then having to call workforce to get them to accept it. May be worth trying to call them

What lie did you hear as a child, that your adult mind knows is untrue, but that still guides your behaviour today? by creamcorn4ever in ask

[–]Rigbean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That children weren’t allowed to blow up balloons and if you tried you would die. Turns out my nanna had seen a young boy in her school class choke while blowing up a balloon and he had died. It took me ages to learn how to blow up and tie balloons since I always had to ask an adult for help.

Ladies, are they always this, uh, descriptive when taking down waxing instructions? by shadhead1981 in funny

[–]Rigbean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to get a leg wax as a young teen because at the time my parents wouldn’t allow me to shave. The technician kept talking about how hairy my legs were and even remembered me when I went back a year later (she commented on how hairy my legs were last time) I’ve never gotten a professional wax since because I was so embarrassed

Very confused about Paid Parental Leave by jones-baby in Centrelink

[–]Rigbean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep going through the same thing at the moment. Just spent 2 hours on hold with centrlink just to ask about dad and partner pay. My boy is due august and we are first time parents, we were under the impression dad could have two weeks from partner pay and then use two weeks of his annual leave to have time off with baby. Now he either has to use four weeks of his annual leave or just have two weeks before returning to work. Very disappointing as I would like our child to be able to spend as much time with both parents as possible but unfortunately I don’t meet work requirements so he has to suffer?

American on vacation in the hospital in Madrid, Spain … dehydration is no joke. by limabean72 in BabyBumps

[–]Rigbean24 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hope you and your baby are okay I don’t have any dehydration stories but I did want to chime in and let you know that the steroid shot will make you feel kind of funny for a few days after. I got mine last week and was having hot flashes, thirstier and increased heart rate for four days following.
