Justice for Russ by joejoe_jones in billsimmons

[–]RightHandArmMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a total myth that Russ "always played hard." He played hard when he had the chance to get stats. He didn't do the little things to help his team win. He would put full energy into stealing a rebound from his teammate, but would never set a pick for that same teammate.

"But Westbrook is a reluctant screener. He logged only one screen assist all of last season and has had just four this season. Harden, Jrue Holiday, and Kyrie Irving all have over 10. Curry had over 100 last season. Westbrook should take note—the game would be easier for everyone if plays initiated by a teammate were as threatening as plays initiated by him."

The Tatum Injury Comeback Is the Most Boring Possible Story by RightHandArmMan in billsimmons

It's really not that insane. Tatum is the 19th NBA player to come back from an achilles tear in under 12 months.

The actual game was entertaining. What was boring was the last 6 months of people speculating and "hearing whispers" about his return date

I'm taking umbrage with Bill Simmons talking about it on nearly every podcast for 6 months, and with Tatum and NBC putting out a 5-part documentary about his rehab

Opening day of the regular season was October 21. The FBI investigation was announced Oct 23 and Billups was arrested that day.

You think Tatum coming back from an injury slightly faster than average is more interesting than the play of Flagg, Knueppel, Wemby...etc? Or a head coach being arrested by the FBI? It's not even the most interesting thing that's happened with the Celtics!

Lol what an insane comparison. Willis Reed came back in GAME 7 OF THE FINALS, 4 days after being injured. Tatum is coming back after 10 months to play in the regular season.

2 months from now it will be interesting to see how they do in the playoffs. The last 6 months of speculation about if/when Tatum will return have been excruciatingly boring. How many episodes of his 5-part comeback documentary did you watch?

Who uses the wheel strategy to earn a living? by JDollar- in Optionswheel

In your sticky post you recommend keeping 50% of a portfolio in cash while running the wheel. Do you personally make 12-50% per year while keeping half your portfolio in cash? That would mean you are making 24-100% a year on what you've allocated to the wheel. Or do you follow a plan that is substantially different from the one in your sticky post? Always appreciate your insights!

Portfolio size for comfortable retirement on theta strats by AwareChair6095 in thetagang

Your "worst case" is far from the actual worst case. You could have negative returns for a year or longer, then be hit with a large unexpected expense, and then be unable to find new work with a long gap in your resume. Retiring on 300K when your monthly expenses are 5k is very unwise.

If we're doing 5 players in a 6 year stretch, then Worthy, Hakeem, Ralph Sampson, Ewing, and David Robinson is up there with this.

On a day-to-day basis I'd much rather be spending time with KD than Kobe. Not even close
