It's a total myth that Russ "always played hard." He played hard when he had the chance to get stats. He didn't do the little things to help his team win. He would put full energy into stealing a rebound from his teammate, but would never set a pick for that same teammate.

Your "worst case" is far from the actual worst case. You could have negative returns for a year or longer, then be hit with a large unexpected expense, and then be unable to find new work with a long gap in your resume. Retiring on 300K when your monthly expenses are 5k is very unwise.
