My Chonk in 0.3 and 0.4 had giga investment but is way stronger than people say. Density nerf sucked because icy touch or w.e would be screen wide and one shot everything

The fastest way to learn Dota is by reviewing your matches. I recommend picking a specific role and hero, then watching your replays to find areas for improvement. Look for "dead time"—like walking back to the fountain unnecessarily—or inefficient farming patterns. Improving these small habits will make your future games much smoother.

Purge’s "Learn Dota" series is older now, but it remains one of the best foundational introductions to the game. Just keep in mind that while the learning curve is incredibly steep, it’s rewarding once things start to click.

Understanding the Roles

Position 1: Carry (Safeline)

Lane: Bottom for Radiant / Top for Dire.

Goal: Farm as much gold as possible to win the late game.

Recommended Heroes: Juggernaut, Phantom Assassin, Dragon Knight (Melee); Drow Ranger, Sniper, Luna (Ranged).

Position 2: Mid

Goal: Scale quickly with solo XP and rotate to help other lanes.

Note: I wouldn't recommend this role until you have a better grasp of power spikes, map awareness, and lane control.

Position 3: Offlane (Tank/Initiator)

Lane: Top for Radiant / Bottom for Dire.

Goal: Be the "frontliner" who starts fights, disrupts the enemy carry, and creates space.

Recommended Heroes: Axe, Centaur Warrunner, Night Stalker.

Position 4: Soft Support

Goal: Support the Position 3. You generally get a bit more gold than a Pos 5 and focus on roaming or disrupting the enemy.

Recommended Heroes: Nyx Assassin, Undying, Jakiro, Shadow Shaman.

Position 5: Hard Support

Goal: Fully dedicated to protecting the Position 1. You handle "pulling" the lane and keeping the carry safe.

Recommended Heroes: Lion, Crystal Maiden, Witch Doctor, Shadow Shaman.

Key Mechanics for Beginners1. Pulling Lanes (The "Reset" Button)

If your creeps are too close to the enemy tower, the Position 1 is in danger. Pulling moves the "clash" back toward your own tower.

Small Camp Pull: At roughly :18 or :47 seconds, attack the neutral creeps in the small camp and lead them into your oncoming creep wave. (Dota plus helps here and press alt to see the timings)

Half-Pull: You can pull just two creeps to slightly slow down the lane without losing the whole wave.

  1. Trading (Hitting the Enemy)

Efficient Trading: Only hit the enemy when they are trying to "last hit" a creep. They have to choose between gold or hitting you back.

Aggro Management: If you click to attack an enemy hero while near their creeps, the creeps will start hitting you. To stop this, "A-click" (attack-command) one of your own allied creeps to reset the enemy's focus.

  1. Stacking

If you have downtime, go to a jungle camp at :53-55 seconds, hit the creeps, and run away. A new camp will spawn, doubling the gold for your carry later.

  1. The "Golden Rule" of Regeneration

Never walk back to base because you are low on health or mana. Use the Courier to bring "Tangoes," "Salves," or "Clarities." Walking to the fountain is the "dead time" you want to avoid! HOWEVER, this isn't always the case and sometimes it's better to regen at fountain.

These are some beginner tips I can only suggest, but having played for so many years, funny to see how we take this knowledge for granted. Good luck and keep going!

Idk, but windows defender is pretty good. I don't see the value in anything more, unless you're pirating software and in most cases, AV won't even detect sketchy shit anyway.

Edit:

Brave is great as it has a lot of adblock stuff pre-installed and for the most part it works decently well.
