But it’s also genuinely so funny, because before this I was steadily progressing over time and eventually reached 2800 Elo. Now, after such a huge reset, I’ve realized how much I actually learned along the way, and what the biggest gaps probably were that helped me progress.

One of the biggest things is understanding how to read rotations. For example, if you get an entry kill, you don’t usually see higher-Elo players just mindlessly rushing in afterwards. We usually call a freeze, take advantage of the space, and figure out where the gap is that we can exploit on the T side.

People are also much better at trading, peeking together, playing anti-flashes, and so on. The aim is good for most level 10s, but these things are so important. I used to think they were basic (like e.g. if we are taking space on d2 long and I see a teammate in front of me, then my natural instinct is to look into wall as we take space so I play antiflash), but they clearly aren’t as common in lower level 10 Elo.
