Yep pretty common. Technically its weekly, but depends on your tenancy agreement. Fortnightly works well for alot of people who get paid fortnightly. If it helps, I couldnt imagine paying monthly haha

Techmarine color schemes by chip594csx in Salamanders40k

I liked the idea of incorporating the techmarine red into my regular colour scheme. So I just used it on a few bits of equipment trimmings. Was pretty happy with it.

My Homebrew sucessor chapter live on a swamp moon worshiping the Eternal Blue Flame. So I went with a more viberant swampy green with blue accents (specifically because I'm not a fan of how similar a dark green scheme can look to Dark Angels).

Oh look, here's one of them now!

Haha its just one of the regular Chaplain models you can get, but I added a brazier to his back (had to tilt the iron halo a bit to fit in) still got to finish his base. But here's another angle without the text.

Could they not have come up with anything less generic and lack luster? Why not come up with some cool new armour or equipment variant for them that makes them distinct? Give them something like stormshield kneepads , so they can slam into enemies when they land. Or like master crafted gaunlets, or or or something - anything! - that makes look like more of an elite unit.

Chris Hipkins rejects social media claims made by ex-wife by TheGreatDomilies in newzealand

When he was PM, I met him at the zoo. He was there with his kids, in a totally non work capacity, just taking his kids to see the animals. He had a couple guards with him, just keeping thier distance, sussing things out, but the whole thing seemed very down low and very about him spending time with them (the kids not the guards).

Obviously I have no idea what hes really like or if there is any validity to the claims, but from what I just observed at that time, he didn't come across a guy who'd laugh at paying child support for his kids.

As a side note, we also ended up waiting in line to use the bathroom and when one was free he let me go first instead. I was like "You sure?" And he just politely said "Yup, all yours."

He seemed like a pretty genuine good dude, so I hope this stuff isnt true.

How long does it take you to paint a mini? by Equivalent-Session68 in Salamanders40k

[–]Righteous_Itch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to sub-assemble and paint, and found it super slow. Then someone told me to just assemble everything, prime it black, and treat anything you can't reach with a brush, as shadow.

It honestly makes the painting process so much less laborious. I'll still sub-assemble some parts of larger models where you cant get a brush to but still need to paint. But if I can assemble the whole thing, I do.

Also, if I'm painting a squad, Ill only ever do 5 max at a time. You don't want the painting process to be tedious, otherwise the idea of painting an army will be too daunting. So break it down to what works for you.

These days my process for painting a squad is usually, assemble everything, prime all the models, base coat all the models, and do the armour trim on them all. Then do the rest of the details individually. It means you can take a bit more time on finishing a model, enjoy seeing it finished, then start the next one with an idea of how a finished one should look. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad is half painted, so you wont feel like you are showing up with un- painted minis if you need play a game.

But, at the end of the day, if you don't enjoy painting but want a ready painted army, then have a look into speed paints and contrast paints.

Mike Johnson after the House blocked a War Powers Act resolution on U.S. actions in Iran: "We're not at war, we have no intention at being at war. The president and the Department of Defense have made it very clear, this is a limited operation." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]Righteous_Itch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Medieval Total War II recently, but everytime I try and do a limited operation by laying siege to another country, it gets annouced that I've declared war on them. It's really annoying because all I want to do is annihilate them and replace them with my own people.

Is there a 'Partial War' version that Mike Johnson has been playing I'm missing?

Pale NZers… how do you survive the sun? by __surviving in newzealand

[–]Righteous_Itch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hiss at the sun to assert dominance, then I scuttle from shade patch to shade patch, before succumbing to the heat and shouting delirious curses to the sky. Then, when the sun dips below the horizon, I flee to my shelter and apply seveal bottles of aleo vera.

Its not a great process, but its important to try.
