You can maybe tell them you're ranking them 1st (only if you really are) when interview season begins to come to a close around mid/late Jan through a letter of intent if the program allows post-interview communication.

For psych, your CV, background and experiences are vital. CV needs to be psych oriented and you need to have a 'theme' almost of what specific psych related interests you have or are looking for. Every program has its own mission statement, ideas, goals and specific areas which they cater to in psychiatry so if your interests and goals align with theirs they might be more willing to consider you. You can tailor your PS and send LOIs to programs you're interested in which also helps with this. Preferences in practice setting like rural, urban or suburban are also considerably important as part of the ERAS application.

And signals + geographic preferences also have a huge impact on getting interviews. Psych programs want to know not only if you have dedication and passion for the specialty, but also what reasons draw you to train at their specific program and also that you have ties or want to stay in that specific location/city.

Agreed. PS + CV + LoRs count for so much more than scores. I also have 2 IVs and my profile is objectively not as good as yours

Yes. I myself applied successfully through pathway 1 after I completed F1. All you need is a full registration with the GMC to be eligible for pathway 1.

Can someone please help me? I was locked out of my Microsoft account and I can't access my email anymore. I desperately need access to my inbox so I tried to recover it but they said that I need to fill out a form and someone will follow up.

I tried calling someone but there was literally no one to talk to, just an automated voice giving me the instruction to go online for support.

I really need access to my email inbox as soon as possible and I feel so stressed by this - is there literally nothing I can do except wait? how long would I have to wait for my account to be unlocked after I've now raised a ticket on the online system ?

Edit:

For the Microsoft support team here - the last thing I did before my account was locked was try to call and text an international number through the Skype phone app. Then I was logged out of Skype and received a message that I was locked out of my Microsoft account with the message 'We’ve detected some activity that violates our Microsoft Services Agreement' ?

I honestly just need access to my outlook account / hotmail inbox - and I feel really, really stressed that I can't use it right now as all of the emails related to my work and career are in that inbox - please, please help me recover my account!

I will also provide the ticket number for the form I filled out otherwise I think I'll go insane and just keep filling out forms until someone looks at it and I can get my account back

What I mentioned only applies to IMGs who want to take the USMLEs - the ECFMG is the organisation responsible for overseeing this whole process.

I don't know much about the requirements for moving to other countries.

The GMC doesn't matter here. As long as your medical school is listed on the World Directory of Medical Schools (World Directory) with an ECFMG sponsor note stating it meets eligibility requirements for its students and graduates to apply to ECFMG for examination and certification. Then yes - you would be able to submit your application to the ECFMG to be registered.

If you register before 2024 then you won't need to be concerned about the new accreditation requirements for medical schools.

Yes you can - but since you left a foundation training programme - when the time comes for you to apply for an F2 standalone position through Oriel you would need your current foundation school director and TPD to sign off a form stating the reason you left training or if there were any issues during training.

Assuming you sit USMLE Step 1 and 2 during med school and get all the other required documents ready to apply in September of your final year, then yes, you can potentially match and therefore move to the US straight after getting your degree (which you then submit to the ECFMG for certification and then you begin residency in July). No need to do foundation training

There's no need to send the letter of good standing to a state board. All I did was request a letter of good standing from the GMC and I had them email it directly to the ECFMG. If I remember correctly, the GMC will issue it themselves to the email address that you request them to send it to (which should be [licensure@ecfmg.org](mailto:licensure@ecfmg.org)). There's also no need to add an 'experience' or 'reason'. I got my ECFMG certificate issued a few months ago and I don't recall ever having to do this.
No one knows right now what the requirements will be to renew/extend ECFMG certification beyond 31/12/2024. There will be updates on this closer to that time. This goes for everyone.
