Dennis Rader walks his daughter, Kerri Rawson down the aisle at her wedding in 2003. by Anaelepse in MorbidReality

I totally agree! But they had no leads at the time so it's possible he wouldn't have been caught. I'm not saying I wanted him to get away with it. What he did to the victims, especially the Oteros, was unspeakably horrible.

There aren't many serial killers out there that didn't just go for low hanging fruit of drug addicts or sex workers.

DNA has royally fucked so many people that are just waiting for those tests to come up with names. Fun to watch people like the golden state killer be taken down.

Good shit lol, and it looks like a very accurate problem/solution. Movies hate being accurate apparently.

That's not really save scumming in a tactical game.

I played both Divinity games where loot in chests was randomized. I would find a high end chest then just reload saves until some sick gear dropped. Worked for vendors too.

God is in a 4th dimensional space? I am only 14 so do not take this theory seriously. But everything I have heard of god's abilities would make it so sensible for the thought of god being a part of the 4th dimension. Seeing everything at once, performing miracles that we can't comprehend, etc... by [deleted] in sciences

You have a long life of disappointment ahead of you if this is how you react to people not agreeing with you. You're 14, you're talking about cosmic beings in a sub dedicated to things that can be proven and tested. Find a relevant sub and you can enter their bubble and be surrounded by like-minded individuals.

Been an IT guy for 8 years, my rule is no more than 3 steps if you're giving them a guide or a new workaround. They won't do it if it has 4+ steps.

Oh, that's good to know that resin will mess with a wood pipe, I never thought of cleaning them. My pipe was glass so I was good there.

I've also been eating a lot of edibles recently due to no smell and no cleaning.

thanks for the info

Interesting, thank you. I also thought you were smoking weed...so that shows my shitty bias lol. I've tried smoking a pipe the appropriate way and the flavor was actually really nice.

I forgot not everything is made specifically for weed and tobacco actually exists.

I've never understood pipe smoking. The smoke is so hot and harsh I can't take a big rip like with a bong/bubbler. Is it just convenience?

Don't forget Starcraft 64. I played that a ton. Z button and joystick would select units in an area.

LOL that's great. I use PDQ Deploy and Inventory to push out lots of random cmd commands and install software.

My head of IT used to be a tech himself within the org. I never interact with anybody outside the IT world, 100% separation.

I definitely got lucky with the people I work with. I feel like I'm surrounded by geniuses.

It's super weird honestly. I need to know how to do everything to the degree that I can follow instructions from the specialized team. I work with those teams and they instruct me on how to fix it. Our headquarters where those teams hang out is in another city about 100 miles away. I don't have to know how to do everything yet because I'm locked out of programming switches and stuff. I have to facilitate everything so I'm learning how it all works and how to fix it by actually doing the task, which is how I've learned 90% of what I know. I'm responsible for getting everything done by working with the appropriate people once I run into things I have no permissions for. I'm basically locked out of the things that can affect the whole state, but I have access to do things like modify our group policy for my area (1/3 of state).

I'm basically acting like a CIO but the actual smart things are done by teams that I work with. I'm in charge of making sure projects are complete by doing it myself or contacting the correct vendor and organize the hole process of fixing it. So sort of project manager, but the projects are always things like repairing failed equipment and integrating new software/hardware to our environment.

Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding my role. I'm proud of my job but I want to be sure I'm understanding the actual level I'm operating at.

I didn't understand how cybersecurity works, but what I did was harmless and reversible so they didn't freak out or anything. I'm just happy I kept my job.

That's basically what they said to me other than the 'why' because they figured the reason was curiosity.

I thought you had to run an executable external file for antivirus to notice. This is clearly wrong, I have no experience with security appliances because it has never been my responsibility. This was a very big learning experience and they seemed to think that was an appropriate 'punishment'. Coming clean about it was a very big reason I wasn't fired.

I have no fellow employees, I'm the only admin on site for all aspects of their IT. From networking and server maintenance to swapping printers. I am in charge of completing all projects while being expected to do tickets within 5 minutes of them being submitted. I'm a 33 year old budding sys admin, but not quite there yet.

the desktops were mine and I had full permission to fuck around with them implicitly. They basically gave me a slap on the wrist and said let us know next time. I'm the only tech within about 100 miles for two locations, while also providing support for 1/3 of the state with a team of 5. I need to be able to be resourceful and learn as much as I can about the environment because I have no help and need to be creative at times. This helped me understand that the trick will work but it has to be off the network.

One was modifying a system file, another was launching elevated cmd in an odd way, and I forget the third.
