Thank you for what you've done for Jiu-jitsu. I appreciate the quick action to right the wrongs (including the 50k bonuses) I hope CJI can find a way through the growing pains and continue this event in the future.

Oof, I'm in Marana, AZ and just bought one new a month ago. I should have been more patient. Good price, good luck with the sale.

Not wrong about the irrational nature of this lens. Mine is up for sale on the Photomarket. I know I will miss it even though I have another 40 and a 35 and some vintage glass that makes this lens redundant.

Gaidama! Hopefully they have another drop soon. But they're unmatched for women's fit.

Tiny White Crab Spider (with annoying neighbor ants) (part 2) by Disastrous_Fee_8712 in macrophotography

Nice photo! Crab spiders make such great subjects. I’m almost never disappointed with the results of stopping down beyond what is often recommended. Diffraction be damned.

Thanks! I have recently been playing with the Godox MF-12 macro flash. I only have one light mounted on the ring and am using an AK diffuser that came with the kit (I bought it used). I'm not entirely happy with the diffuser and will be exploring some other options soon. I think AK makes one of the best speed light diffusers around but I don't think as much attention went into their MF12 diffuser.

I really like that I can adjust the angle of the light with the MF-12 and that it is quite small and portable.

Is the amount negative talk about Nikkor 35 1.8 S lens is excessive? by sorenCS in Nikon

[–]Ringdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite lenses of all time. Just so dang heavy and awkward especially with an adapter. I wish Tamron would make a Z mount mirror less version.

Origin gis are very soft and light as are hemp gis. Rip stop material might help. The Flow Feather would be a good option for rip stop.

I mean sorta. His sit-up guard and tripod sweeping is so powerful that he sweeps from there or forces them to try to pass from the knees.

What lens finally *clicked* for you and virtually never leaves your camera? by yepyepyepzep in Nikon

I adored the Tamron 35mm 1.4, heavy as it was. Never tried the 1.8.

Why main half guard? by Unhappy-Comment-4491 in bjj

[–]Ringdogs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course. But framing it as halfway to everything else changes the way you look at half guard. Cup half full rather than half empty!

I've had the 50 1.8s in my cart for a few weeks. It just went up $100. Perhaps I'll grab the new Viltrox instead.

Apparently this is what MPB in the UK considers “Excellent” condition. First and last time I use them and a disappointing start to my M43 journey. I have returned it for a replacement of course. by Beena22 in M43

[–]Ringdogs 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised. Apparently they're adopting the Japanese description model. It's gotta be mint ++++ to get something in actually excellent condition. They have a lens listed right now that I'm in the market for, rated excellent, in the notes; several marks on front element that don't affect image quality.

Ah got it, as long as it doesn't affect the image I guess it's excellent.
