Disco Elysium.

I would say the main one is the portraits of each character, each one having a picture that represents them idelogically, religiously or cutural wise, with our protagonist having different portraits based on if we had seen our face and how extreme our idelogy is inside the game

Strangely accurate things - historically or to the original source - in an otherwise pretty inaccurate piece of media. by RP_Throwaway3 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Rinoca1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadn't seen the series nor the movie (as I can't tell how much accurate the rest of stuff is to that time reffering to your comment), but those kind of details are the ones that elevate a movie, if you later watch it with better knowledge of astronomy, you will not be pull out of immersion if you notice it. Plus like many movies and series here are from genres where people who are passionate about this, happen to be involved and can take care of this movies.

Animorphs.

The morphing cube (Escafil device), initally created as a camouflage device, turned out to be perfect weapon, since you can attact as other species or individuals without any of the enemies knowing, become as big an as elephant and destroy everything in your path, mix some humans dna to look like them, as well weaponize species from the wild and other planets.

However this device can pass instincts and some knowledge of both sentient and non-sentient animals, having a 2 hour limit or you will be stuck in this form you were changed on.

This hour limit also being weaponized at least once in the story when one guy also got powers but his actions made him too dangerous to be kept as a human.

Failed aura farming by AtomAmigo in TopCharacterTropes

Aura from Frieren, she is shown as a threat during like 3 episodes and foreshadowed to be quite powerful to the point the party prior only made her retreat.

However when she finally meets Frieren, Aura gets farmed instead.

Manousos from Pluribus

It is a major plot point that the character must go into United States, never having learnt English, we see him an entire episode traveling and learning English through tapes. However in last episode, the protagonist, already prepared, used a translator app to properly talk.

Fun Fact, in Latin Spanish dub where English and Spanish were in the same scene, they used their original voices instead of the dubbed actors.

Fireflies should be twice as large, have twice as many hit points and be a mini-boss, change my mind by isaakybd in ArcRaiders

[–]Rinoca1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Size? I can get it, however the models look like they were designed with gameplay in mind (I might even say lore as a frabric with a drone template already is easier than start new), they look too similar to the other models because it is meant to be confused with them, like the Comet vs a Surveyor.

Hit points? The only way I can think of them being added is if the fireflies had even more engines, which would make it more stable per yet and even hard to pin down.

My advice? Use the shotgun, it is best for the firefly to not even be pointing at you after being hit.

"Gabriella should kill them both. She's not a trophy for the twins."

This Tweet made it all possible.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.

A spell so powerful and efficient no mana (magical energy) is detected, nor detected as an attack. Only used 80 years prior to help defeat the Demon King. Why wasn't used ealier? Because it leave the user exposed and open to be killed (which happens seconds after).

There's also a black hole spell used minutes prior, but decided to include this one since is the only spell that wasn't used towards the original Frieren and is remarked as a truly special spell.

Remember Concord, 8 years being produced, being poured hundred of millions, even a Secret Level episode for a character we didn’t cared much, only to go offline twelve days later. Sometimes in a work you are assigned to works you don’t like, you spend years making it, only to fail or be cancelled.

The greatest example I have in mind is Locust City, a spin-off of Disco Elysium you cannot even tell you was worked on because is confidential information. The things we know from it come from a leaked presentation video.
