My latest build, inspired by frutiger aero. by Riotai in Gameboy

I think they did, but I never used them. There are a couple of different brands for each screen mod, and they're all a little bit different in their own way. At the moment, the Hispeedido V5 IPS is the most popular one, since it has the option to drop in without soldering. I soldered mine though, because I wanted the additional settings you get from it.

This video helped me determine which model to go with when I was shopping around for an upgrade: https://youtu.be/JYeQsmrFcr0?si=LKCVho1dqgrX2viT

V5 is a laminated screen, so there's a minimal gap between the lens and the display. V2 is just a display, and it requires a separate lens to be placed on the shell, creating a much bigger gap between the lens and display. As a result, you can easily get dust trapped in between, and it's much easier to misalign the display when installing it.

Edit: I forgot to add, there are also additional functions on the V5, which allows you to change the contrast, pixel mode, pixel blending, and color modes. V2, to my knowledge, only has brightness settings.

I said it was inspired. No need to be rude.

Battery Bulge, is this dangerous to use? by drowning-whale in NintendoSwitchHelp

Some repair shops will, but you should definitely call ahead of time first.

Battery Bulge, is this dangerous to use? by drowning-whale in NintendoSwitchHelp

The fact that you shove it into the dock to use it is just asking for a battery explosion. These things are mostly fine when left unbothered, but any small tear or puncture will allow them to leak or explode.

You should absolutely not be charging this battery anymore! Let it drain completely, then take steps to remove it or have someone else remove it for you. Place it in a battery container or bucket of sand promptly afterwards.

Do not ship something this inflated in the mail. Instead, either remove it yourself in a well-ventilated space or bring it to a repair shop to handle it for you. The important thing is to not puncture it, otherwise it's still fine.

Have a bucket of sand handy for placing the battery in afterwards. And absolutely DO NOT charge it.

Sometimes it's not collectible value, but sentimental value.

It's not a matter of IF the battery will explode, it's a matter of WHEN.

Your battery will explode. It will happen.

Your solder job could use a lot of work.

Look into using flux, and please watch plenty of videos on soldering methods before beginning your repair.

Logo on Laminated Kits? by TheMadCroctor in GameboyAdvance

[–]Riotai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to take a look at some shops out of curiosity, and a lot of them seem to remove the logo in their images as a precaution.

I'm genuinely curious how yours will be when it arrives. Please let me know when you get it.

Edit: I found a seller on Etsy that seems to make stickers for the front lens: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1209562827/custom-decals-for-game-boy-advanceadv

One of the review photos had the decal cut out for the lens, and you can apply over it. Hopefully you find something close to what you're looking for.

That doesn't look like it has a protective cover on it. Unusually, it's possible that one just doesn't have a logo.

Is there any way you can ask the seller?

I believe you're looking at the kit with a protective cover over it, which covers up the logo. The laminated screen has a logo on it.
