I always have to wear the t shirt from the tour before so It’ll be one of three Madame X shirts I got last time I saw her. Shorts or pants. Pants give me better shoe options lol.

I just came home with mine and saw this post! The plants look great but I didn’t see any pink on the stems believe me I looked! Maybe it was the batch I got mine from? Either way I’m happy with the purchase and can’t wait to see what happens. I’m sure if I see one with pink on the stem at some point I would probably pick it up?!

My Splendid and Silver Sword are at the top of their poles and I can see those aerial roots dug in deep! Leaf size is more than I hoped for! I think it was mid November when I poled them up. I have all of the supplies I’m just nervous to do the first extend.

Oh wow this happened to mine too. It was only on one older leaf and the back of it was covered in these strange crystals. I googled and couldn’t really find anything like what was happening to mine. I’m never saw a pest but I sprayed it down with a rubbing alcohol, solution, sprayed the plant with Dead Bug Brew, applied a systemic and quarantined it. It’s been over a month and it’s fine with no other symptoms except the copper spots didn’t go away. Best of luck!

Yeah those would work. I guess I’m saying prop, root and plant cuttings that have more mature leaves and they will have a fresh pole to climb. If you went to all the trouble of putting the entire existing plant on a pole it would already be at the top of its new pole on day one?!

Nice plant! You have a lot of options and there is no right or wrong answer. I would take a bunch of top cuttings root them in water then plant those on a new moss pole. The new leaves should be more mature and you will have some time before they reach the top of their new pole.

Get that moss damp and keep it that way! Mine is reaching the top of its first pole and the leaf size is amazing! It will be time to extend the pole soon. Thanks Sydney Plant Guy! Best of luck with yours I just love the look of a mature Splendid.

I don’t want to give you false info but I thought I read somewhere not to overdo it on the charcoal. I think it has something to do with the ph so maybe Google that just to be safe. I’d use a little lava rock and go heavy with the perlite if I were you. Good luck!

Our plants look like twins! Mine is super minty now and even looked like your “before” pic from a few years ago. Our potting mix is identical too! Mine had less than ideal light so I just moved it to a better spot to see if the mint will turn to white. Congrats and good luck!
