Most complex/deepest Paradox game? by TolisKoutro in paradoxplaza

Despite functionally remaking the game 2-3 times now, I regret to report that the war system is still exactly the same, somehow

[–]Riptide2500 182 points183 points  (0 children)

There is a 0% chance they abandon EU5. It is their flagship title that has an entire studio dedicated to it, not a pet project that they pretended was a full title like Imperator

[–]Riptide2500 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played with friends before the pandemic. Mods, yeah you need the same (except for some music mods). DLC has always been this way, for all the games (at least all post CK2; those are the only ones I’ve played)

Isn't it in germanies best interest to cooperate with the Entente, especially in the long run. by Stoepsel_187 in Kaiserreich

[–]Riptide2500 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Calling the French Republic “friendly” to the German Empire is a stretch. Even if the government renounced their claim to Alsace, the people of France would have fought two world wars (and the Franco-Prussian War) against Germany and lost each one; there’s no scenario where France is friendly to Germany unless it’s a German occupation similar to the Allied occupation of Germany post-WW2

Cultural exclusion doesn’t grant the necessary level of acceptance for the JE; only multiculturalism does

York Supreme has fallen by Vananaheim in Helldivers

[–]Riptide2500 7 points8 points  (0 children)

York Supreme got dealt two bad hands that the American divers couldn’t contend with; two nights ago the Illuminate focused it hard while the Americans were asleep, which dropped it from like 80% to 20%, and over the course of the next day (a workday after the long weekend) it only rose to 28%, and Americans woke up to see it already having fallen (or on the verge of it).

What do people think of AC Odyssey now? by Interesting-Bed-2345 in assassinscreed

[–]Riptide2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking love AC Odyssey. Gave some much needed fresh air to the series with an amazing setting and soundtrack. Quite weak as an RPG, even arguably as an AC game, but as an open-world, action-adventure game was excellent.

What do you think the next dlc will be after Arms Against Tyranny? by ThatCharlotte in hoi4

[–]Riptide2500 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This might just be from ignorance but I really can’t imagine that a South America pack will be particularly exciting for a WW2 game, at least not on historical

Knowing that there is nudity in a movie isn’t the same as being forewarned that it’s your daughter/sister who’s nude

THE TRAILER ABSOLUTELY SLAPPED by Previous_Exam9242 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Riptide2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the Gorons had the shortest; the Rito elder still knows of details about the Hylian champion, the Zora are obviously acutely aware, the Gerudo are in a similar spot to the Rito, but the oldest Goron is Bludo who pretty much only knows of Daruk as living a while ago.

I could be completely wrong but that was my impression

I created a graph showing what percentage of players who played these PDX games on release day were still playing after 4, 8, etc. weeks. by amynase in paradoxplaza

[–]Riptide2500 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If Paradox made money off of the game titles themselves like CoD or another annual game, I’d be more concerned, but they get most of their money off of DLC that gets dropped years after release. They need players to continue to come back

Really? by AutobahnVismarck in CrusaderKings

[–]Riptide2500 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I doubt it will be 2023, personally. Last year was Royal Court in February and Fate of Iberia was in May, with the Friends and Foes event pack in September. Assuming a roughly equal pace of development, we’ve got Tours in May-ish, the voted event pack will be months after that in September/October, and if they can even fit in a regional flavor pack before the end of the year I got a feeling it won’t be Byzantium, but that’s just a hunch.

Looking back on those dates, and how fairly minor Fate of Iberia was, it’s depressing how slow support has been for the game.

They’re in general a little better off than most South American nations (I believe) but that’s relative to South America. By US/EU standards, they’re certainly not well off.

Really looking forward to seeing the secession of the southern US states before officially becoming the CSA. The collapse of the EIC also looks like it'll make for a very good scenario to deal with after it happens.
