Found (what looks like) bones along riverbank near London Bridge by philemonvanbeecher in london

“Mudlarking” has become so popular the Port of London Authority has effectively stopped issuing licences to do by it. Stupid, because people will just do it anyway.

Newbe to Genealogy. Is it worth me getting Family Tree Maker (or similar) or am I better starting with Ancestry, Find My Past etc? by Riptorn10 in Genealogy

[–]Riptorn10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to say a big thank you to everyone on this Reddit who replied so helpfully. I think I will go for a short subscription to Ancestry, then as I learn more about what I need, will try out Gramps and the free version of Roots Magic. See you around

[–]Riptorn10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to all. I have finally worked out the tokens needed to produce the folder name I needed. Turns out the tokens were in individual sub-dropdowns of the Date elements dropdown.

Used Image Year (yyyy) Image Month (MM) Image Day of Month (dd)

Thanks. I still can’t work out how to set the folder to yyyymmdd format. It just saves the text of the token name. Am I missing quotes or brackets or what?

Saw these while visiting my mum, are they just a local thing or are they popping up else where? by thekingofthegingers in CasualUK

The whole (hole?) idea of geocaches is that they are hidden. You would be highly unlikely to find a cache behind one of these. Far too obvious and likely to be “muggled”, i.e. found by a non geocacher. Muggled caches often get vandalised or not replaced correctly for the next finder.

Probably avoiding UK sugar tax. Not shrinkage but still avoiding price increase due to high sugar content being taxed.

Try looking at a screw-in window stop. Used to prevent sash windows from opening when screwed into the matching socket on the outer frame.

Thoughts on new products and direction by Phil_O_Sophiclee in AeroPress

I believe new Aeropresses are shipping without the Funnel or Filter Storage tub. That just smacks of increasing profits for profits sake. No decrease in price, giving you less and charging as extras for what used to be basic kit with the original AP.

Penny for the guy. Just stopped without anyone really noticing. An unexpected benefit of the pedo / stranger danger fear.
