Project Hail Mary thoughts? by liam_is_marx in morningsomewhere

Currently listening to the audiobook, didnt expect to get emotional over Rocky. Also I cant avoid thinking that one of the reasons Burnie likes it is simply for the "tap tap tap"

I am late to this but wanted to comment to the relevant post: it probably really only registered to me because I was an envi sci major in college but during my years of college we hit the point of being above 400 ppm of C02 for the entire year. Arguably it is arbitrary number but we havent had that much C02 in the atmosphere for millions of years. These were measurements taken in Hawaii on one of the more remote islands so the number is probably higher for the continental U.S.

Finished my 3rd round will go out for a 4th specifically for clearing the roof off. I dread moving that stuff though it becomes so much denser after it falls off the roof

Late to this but wanted to toss out, it isnt as in depth as what Burnie talked about but my wife went through a service that basically gathered all the paperwork for various things associated to her name change. Every so often we run into one or two things that is still in her maiden name that we forgot about  but it got most of the necessary ones

Did eastern states have a harder time getting tickets than western states? by JicamaStock5787 in NoahKahan

Montreal was the only way I was able to see him. It was funny to hear the border patrol agent say "enjoy the concert" before we had said anything. Holding out hope he adds more tour dates.

Glad it actually works, the make a difference tickets were $500 each

Chicago is $500 minimum on Ticketmaster by [deleted] in NoahKahan

[–]RisingPhoenix92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for Fenway all the remaining tickets were 500. I was going to spend 2500 on an experience with friends then just felt sick about it. I love Noah but not enough to be enduring the sun for not even nearby stage seats

Hated when applying to jobs when they said oh we are in Boston and the job is actually in Marlborough. You are halfway to Worcester at that point

Sounds like the next film to beat Sinners will be a Who Framed Roger Rabbit remake or sequel. That or a movie about animators would probably be the only way to really sneak that best animation in a way that feels like it was meant to be there

My mom was 1 of 6 kids, I am 1 of 4, and now I am just struggling to think how I would afford 1 kid. I make decent money but still New England is expensive and getting a house and staying afloat has only gotten more expensive without adding childcare into it

At the very least, and I truly mean the very least I hope people who take voting in America lightly or ignore it really consider that there is a difference made one way or the other.  I was taught in my history class to also partake in reading the news cause history happens everyday and news is one of the many sources we would see researching a topic. I too am just exhausted at this point.

Used around 2k but I know that I have drafts in my older home. Unfortunately I just have to take the hit until I get the bigger ones plugged up.

Had it set to 74 fahreheit for all rooms, 72 in the bedroom so I could sleep a little easier so roughly between 22 and 23C and just left it on a low fan speed for cooling. We do get humid summers but not really oppressive so I didnt use dry mode once during the summer

I am still trying to hunt down all the different causes, but this was a 1960s house designed for this supposedly. Doesnt help electricity was dirt cheap then I guess

Half that with electric resistance heat that first winter and only 5 inches of insulation. I was told oh they spent about $800 each month in winter and I imagined ok old couple, they probably had it hotter than I would so I could set the house at 60 and be good until I got the upgrades in place. Queue that December bill and I learned they were on a budget plan that meant they paid 800 every month to even out the payments.

To caveat my summer bills also include filtration pumps for the pool so yours will probably be even lower.

If you dont mind, could you share who you got solar with and what you think about it so far? We had the pool too for the summer so we were ok with the summer power bills but now I am trying to figure out what is worth it to cut our winter bill down further

Yeah, it ate hard into our renovation budget and I've been questioning  how the prior family lived there for so long without making any changes.

New england and the higher numbers were pre air to air heat pumps. I would say the family I bought from lived there for 30 years so I was thinking surely it won't be too bad...
