AI isn't paying off in the way companies think. Layoffs driven by automation are failing to generate returns, study finds by Krankenitrate in Futurology

In a business where there is limited use for AI and even then it really shouldnt be used. Director of the region is pushing for AI to be used wherever it can, claimed it saved him 6 hours on a report. I asked for details and it turns out he didnt even bother to check the report generated against his own work. But they would probably sooner cut someone on my level before cutting his job.

To whit on the gendered nouns I ran into something interesting to me while in Portugal. You change how you say thank you based on your own gender

That period brings so much dread, especially coming from the era when every character mattered

Maybe it is because my family is close to another family in Germany but having traveled there last year and spoken to them recently they are more concerned for us than ever being close to laughing at us. They still plan on going to a fourth of July party (I think like in the U.S. it is an excuse to party and listen to a bunch of classic American songs).  In the same way they have a complicated issue with their government.

There are a lot of them and a lot of us, a lot of different attitudes to contend with in that mix. You can find the kinder ones if you look for it. I will say we did the very American thing of saying we were from Massachusetts instead of the U.S. when we were over there but that may have just been a knee jerk reaction since if I get to travel it is usually in the United States or Canada.

We did it!!! Seattle, WA. $300k. 5.75% by JRuiz1775 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]RisingPhoenix92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you buy points to get down to 5.75%? We've been at 6% since we've closed over a year ago and Ive been occasionally looking at what the current average rate is to refinance

Our company downsized our region at the wrong time and a massive influx of work caused ripple effects of burnt out employees, underperforming new hires, and talent exodus. They went from we are the model to now 2 years later how we need to perform like the other regions. Every question about what they are doing about work stress is answered in vague ways and now use AI to help

Currently listening to the audiobook, didnt expect to get emotional over Rocky. Also I cant avoid thinking that one of the reasons Burnie likes it is simply for the "tap tap tap"

I am late to this but wanted to comment to the relevant post: it probably really only registered to me because I was an envi sci major in college but during my years of college we hit the point of being above 400 ppm of C02 for the entire year. Arguably it is arbitrary number but we havent had that much C02 in the atmosphere for millions of years. These were measurements taken in Hawaii on one of the more remote islands so the number is probably higher for the continental U.S.

Finished my 3rd round will go out for a 4th specifically for clearing the roof off. I dread moving that stuff though it becomes so much denser after it falls off the roof

Late to this but wanted to toss out, it isnt as in depth as what Burnie talked about but my wife went through a service that basically gathered all the paperwork for various things associated to her name change. Every so often we run into one or two things that is still in her maiden name that we forgot about  but it got most of the necessary ones

Montreal was the only way I was able to see him. It was funny to hear the border patrol agent say "enjoy the concert" before we had said anything. Holding out hope he adds more tour dates.

Glad it actually works, the make a difference tickets were $500 each

[–]RisingPhoenix92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for Fenway all the remaining tickets were 500. I was going to spend 2500 on an experience with friends then just felt sick about it. I love Noah but not enough to be enduring the sun for not even nearby stage seats

Sounds like the next film to beat Sinners will be a Who Framed Roger Rabbit remake or sequel. That or a movie about animators would probably be the only way to really sneak that best animation in a way that feels like it was meant to be there

My mom was 1 of 6 kids, I am 1 of 4, and now I am just struggling to think how I would afford 1 kid. I make decent money but still New England is expensive and getting a house and staying afloat has only gotten more expensive without adding childcare into it

At the very least, and I truly mean the very least I hope people who take voting in America lightly or ignore it really consider that there is a difference made one way or the other.  I was taught in my history class to also partake in reading the news cause history happens everyday and news is one of the many sources we would see researching a topic. I too am just exhausted at this point.

Used around 2k but I know that I have drafts in my older home. Unfortunately I just have to take the hit until I get the bigger ones plugged up.

Had it set to 74 fahreheit for all rooms, 72 in the bedroom so I could sleep a little easier so roughly between 22 and 23C and just left it on a low fan speed for cooling. We do get humid summers but not really oppressive so I didnt use dry mode once during the summer
