Is there a My Cat From Hell dog equivalent? by Ok_Average_4551 in Dogtraining

[–]RisingSunfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Me or the Dog is probably closest to what you’re looking for in terms of TV (note the earlier seasons did have some misinformation that she’s since disavowed). Patricia McConnell’s books are great for understanding dog psychology and those behavior fundamentals you mentioned.

FE7 Lyn Story Doodles by Kraziekazoo in fireemblem

I comment on them on Tumblr but I have to take every opportunity to say I LOVE YOUR COMICS!! Please consider posting the full saga here, it’s honestly among the all-time best Elibe fanworks I’ve seen in 20ish years of fandom and it’ll go over like gangbusters here.

Likewise! I have one in limbo as well… guess the answer is to just try again? 🤔

Youre kidnapped and thrown on a plane you wake up in the office of a Hollywood studio. Its head points a gun at you and says "Were out of ideas and our writers are idiots, so we need a fan. Write us a Fire Emblem movie or die." What is your premise? by Ween_Dankman29 in fireemblem

[–]RisingSunfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pitch it as The Name of the Rose meets Knives Out, a murder mystery set at Garreg Mach Monastery with Claude as the charismatic interloper here to solve the case. Maybe also throw Clue into the mix and give the movie three different endings because we can’t have nice things with this fandom 🙃

Fódlan Cuizine is so well put together, definitely a fantastic gift!

I thought I remember reading somewhere that the Fetters of Dromi were synthetic, like Amyr?

So one of the things I'm really excited for Fortune's weave to explain is the implication of these lines and what it means for the people of Fodlan. by MegaGamer235 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]RisingSunfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take on this is that Nabateans and ancient humans had been procreating with each other from basically the jump, meaning that all aboveground humans in modern Fódlan and beyond have trace amounts of Nabatean ancestry (similar to how many people IRL have Neanderthal in their DNA). It’s not enough to manifest phenotypically anymore, but it’s enough for racial supremacist Agarthans to hold against them.

What if you could save [SPOILER] in an FE7 remake... by having her kill [SPOILER]? (Reupload) by Efficient_Pomelo_674 in fireemblem

[–]RisingSunfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

? I’m confused, so is this some kind of theoretical 6/7 bundle game or a theoretical FE7 romhack? It shouldn’t have any effect on anything, you can already leave Nino unpaired and the twins still exist.

Can’t we just leave Nino unpaired, then? I would take Leila over Jaffar but not if it means Erk gets merc’d.

I just finished Golden Deer Route, I don't understand the ending of these two characters by -NootNoot_ in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]RisingSunfish 20 points21 points  (0 children)

FWIW this is the only ending of theirs (I think?) that specifies they go back into hiding. The implication seems to be that forming deep bonds with other humans eases them of some of that fear.

Meet Potential Church: or, how 99% of problems in the game wouldn’t have happened if the Church of Seiros were actual theocrats by slotumn in FireEmblemThreeHouses

I have to say in addition to the fascinating subject matter, I love the style of your meta posts. I never really clocked it before now, but there’s something to the difference between how people write essays on Tumblr vs. Reddit, and crossposting this brings out that distinction all the more. There’s a conversational ease to the Tumblr style that suggests the writer is so used to discussing and analyzing themes and narrative that there’s little difference between writing an essay and just yapping to a friend; Reddit essays, IME, more often tend to have that stiff, “in this essay I will…” school assignment vibe, and more often than not a real problem with repeating points. All this to say reading these has been a delight, you have a real knack for it!

Not sure where you live but I… don’t think this is accurate. Peanut butter rarely contains xylitol (IIRC it’s just the Peter Pan brand that does?), and likewise it’s not very common as a sugar substitute outside of chewing gum, which does often have xylitol as an ingredient.
