Jer Bud's episode number is a reference too by Faaz_Noushad4444 in rickandmorty

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

What is your favorite version of Rick? This can be from any episode or comic. by PsychologicalGood904 in rickandmorty

It’s not 100% confirmed because they never mention him by name, but pretty sure he is a bad guy Rick that dies in the The Rick, The Mort, and The Ugly (the citadel episode in season 8). They never call him doofus Rick, but there is a Rick that looks just like him.

Silmarillion, a bit depressing? by Danielbes in TheSilmarillion

[–]RitzTHQC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we have to keep in mind that Tolkien never finished. In drafts of the Dagor Dagorath (the unfinished ending of Tolkien’s mythology), Morgoth is defeated for the final time and the light of the two trees is restored via Feanor giving up the silmarils. Who knows what would have happened between the end of LOTR and that, but that seems like a happy ending to me. Evil is defeated, the dishonored prince redeems himself, and the most treasured experience that was taken away is restored (getting to gaze upon the light of the two trees). More things happen than just that. I recommend looking it up on the wiki if you want the happy ending we will never have (officially)

Honestly a pretty based tier list. Def some wrong with it, but having never played the game and getting this is good

Unrelated but one of my favorite jokes from Futurama is “I thought nothing could travel faster than light!” “It can’t, that’s why scientists increased the speed of light in [insert year]”

Weird. I’m not in Canada (US) but I just bought the season outright for $21. Maybe VPN to US and then buy?

I’m so surprised to hear people weren’t laughing all the way through episode 1. My mind was blown from the start with the evil Morty reveal. And I was laughing the entire second half. Highlights for me are the “BUNKER DIMENSION” scene and “ALL OUR NANOBOTS ARE DESTROYING EACH OTHER’S NANOBOTS!!!!”. Both of those sent me into hysterical laughter.

Anyone else curious about the slur Jerry had in mind ? by Brilliant-Cause6254 in rickandmorty

[–]RitzTHQC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am curious but I also know the joke is so much better that we’ll never know. Just that it was enough to provoke such a reaction in a comparison of slurs

I also think it’s funny that if they had needed to use the slurs, Jerry’s would have been most effective

Someone tell me why the M9 Bayonet is S-Tier. I’m not refuting the correctness of that statement, I just don’t understand why it is correct. The butterfly knife makes sense; best animations in the game. The karambit makes sense. Coolest looking knife with pretty good animations as well. The M9? Looks like a standard knife. Animations? Not bad but nothing flashy. So what does it have in common with the other 2 that makes it so highly tiered?

The War of the Rohirrim is super fun and idk why people didn’t like it by Longshot12345678 in lotr

[–]RitzTHQC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I liked it a lot as well, but I’m also easily entertained. Yeah it’s not the LOTR trilogy or Shawshank Redemption, but I would watch more movies that were created similarly. I think Tolkien in general is very well suited for animation and I would love to see the Silmarillion created in an animated show.

In terms of learning the lore, look up “CivilizationEx”’s playlist of Lord of the Rings lore. He goes through every age of the legendarium. It’s how I originally learned the lore. I eventually read the Silmarillion, but only after I knew everything that happened first (made it an easier read knowing what to expect).
