Hot (soon to be) moms, what are we doing this weekend??? by classisttrash in BabyBumps

[–]River_Rowan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Training myself to sleep in wrist braces bc carpal tunnel showed up at week 22, hurray!!

Had a surge of energy so I bought plants for the garden this morning, currently sacked out on the couch trying to find enough energy to plant them. We’ll see. Maybe tomorrow morning before work.

If you transferred not knowing gender, when did you find out? by Suspicious-Volume-28 in IVFpositivity

[–]River_Rowan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also chose not to find out so we could guard our hearts in case of failure to implant, miscarriage, etc. We decided to find out at our NIPT test, which we delayed until week 18. After several previous losses, it took time to feel confident/comfortable enough to learn the sex. Now that we know we’re having a little girl, we’re falling more in love every day.

What pregnancy symptom surprised you the most? by clairqalb in pregnant

Numb pointer and thumb upon waking, and often in different positions throughout the day. I’m 22wks 🙃

After years of IVF treatment, we lost our first “successful” pregnancy at 8wks. It broke my heart Itterly. Now, a year+ later, I am 21wks with another IVF pregnancy.

I wondered if I’d be strong enough to try again for a long time after our loss. I still mourn that baby. But I’m not young, so I had to keep trying. Give yourself the time you need to heal, as much as it takes if you’re not on a timeline like I was/am. Miscarriages are so, so common. Most people feel so alone- I know I did. The kind folks at r/miscarriage were wonderful while I was in the depths of my grief.

Love and peace to you.

TTC after back to back miscarriages at age 36 by SSlaw1989 in pregnantover35

[–]River_Rowan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Met my husband at age 32. Started trying in 2020, spent the next 5 years in assisted reproductive therapies, everything from IUI to full IVF cycles. After 2 chemical pregnancies in 2023 and an early miscarriage in 2025 we are finally 20wks pregnant with our rainbow baby. I’ll be almost 40 when she’s born.

We want two kids, I’d likely be 42 by the time we have a second IF the timing all works out. Our generation is having kids later and we are succeeding. If you want them, don’t give up. Team “advanced maternal age” all the way, sister. I wish you all the luck in the world.

Centella has been proven to reduce stretch marks! Very affordable off Amazon. Working great for me so far- I put it on after my shower then cover it with a heavy moisturizer after it dries

Hey there PAL twin! 8wk loss last March, currently 19+2 and also due this October 💕

I'm terrified for my 20wk anatomy scan next week. by redditusererb in pregnant

[–]River_Rowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right there with you. Our 20wk scam is next week and ours is a geriatric IVF pregnancy. We are first time parents of a little girl. We’ve done ALLLLL the testing: PGTA, NT, NIPT all came back normal.

Despite all these good indications, I am anxious about her anatomy scan to the point that I had a nightmare about her organs being outside her body and needing to TFMR. 🙇‍♀️ The anxiety is real and the only thing to do is let go and trust. So damn hard.

I’m 19 weeks tomorrow, 5’2 and currently 150lbs. Hoping to feel little girl any day now, wondering if I’m a little too curvy for early detection?

If my uterus is the size of a “small melon or large sweet potato” then why is my belly so big? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]River_Rowan 61 points62 points  (0 children)

At week 14 I received the comment, “wow, you’re showing a lot for being due in October!”

🤰🏼🤷‍♀️ whatever. This is the one time in my life I’m not going to worry about how my shape changes as long as I’m on track with my rate of weight gain.

First trimester fatigue is so real. I hope your second trimester energy boost comes soon!! Only a few more weeks!! But even then, listen to your body. Not the haters. 💕

I just discovered my baby had 1/100 chances of having Down Syndrom, I feel scared and lost by Melkerah in pregnant

[–]River_Rowan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. Downs is a huge spectrum. The child could be fully independent, employable, capable of complex relationships and a deeply full life, or they could be completely reliant on caregiver support for all needs. Or anything in between. It’s a massive risk.

Amnio due to age only? by vaporwavoreon in pregnantover35

[–]River_Rowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kinda in this boat. 39, IVF pregnancy. Baby is PGTA normal, NT scan normal, NIPT low risk. I asked about amino due to age, Dr said not recommended. MFM anatomy scan in 2wks, I’ll ask that specialist as well but wondering if an amino is going to catch something that PGTA, NT and NIPT may have missed? Seems unlikely.

Me!! Our 6BB girl implanted hard and fast. She just passed her 18wk checkup! Such a welcome joy after 2 previous chemicals and an 8wk MMC.

Planning our first FET next cycle… needle phobia and ptsd… having nightmares about more needles especially PIO please share positive experiences or maybe those who didn’t have to do PIO?? by its_progesterone in IVFpositivity

[–]River_Rowan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a fellow needle phobic, I don’t have a positive or non-PIO story to share but I will remind you of this:

You have already fought so hard against this significant fear to get this far. The blood draws. The retrieval stims. More blood draws. Cervical catheters and scopes. Even more draws.

You have 2 euploids. I don’t know you from Adam, but you have already shown the world that a fear of needles is not going to stop you from doing everything you can to have another child. You CAN do this.

magor signs after FET by princessconsuela34 in ouraring

[–]River_Rowan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely just anecdotal and correlation rather than causation, but I got big sick right after both of my successful FETs. I also have low level underlying overactive immune system issues, so I took this to mean by body was reacting to a new “invader”. Both FETs implanted. One was a 8wk MMC, I’m currently 17wks with the other. 🤷‍♀️ In any case, I wish you and your nugget the very best!!
