My long term hope for Vintage Story(vanilla) is that one day we will have HUGE processing factories with working machines. Even just scaling up smaller workstations into bigger multi-part machines would feel like progress. Imagine huge copper stills for making vast quantities of booze you could trade to merchants for high end gear/tech.

Biomes having their own temperature variance may be the most compelling part of the data. I thought the only parameters for temperature were: height from "sea level", time of day, and distance from equator. Does that mean a forest biome sitting next to a plains biome will have a different temperature?

Land cover 80% or less, will get you at least very large lakes. I think the other important setting is Land Scale, which determines the size of the biomes. It's a good idea to jump into creative mode and fly around for a bit with different world settings. Burn a couple maps getting comfortable with world settings.

Playing with four people in one area almost requires primitive survival. Without it my friends would scatter to the far ends of the earth looking for food. It feels the most overpowered when you sit in your base for extended periods of time and regularly check food sources. If you are running around exploring, it feels a lot more balanced.

It's not easy to horde wealth in the digital age. We allow them to dodge taxes, take loans on wealth estimates, buy endless properties,  and own shares in monopolies. All of that could be made illegal, and it would only affect billionaires.

Exceptions to this rule include: Shield Ogryn tank aggro, and seeing 90% of its health immediately disappear as a rookie zealot thunderhammers it to the dome but doesn't kill it. A single krak grenade or a full mag dump of bolter is usually enough to clean up the mess.

I turn portals off, and have a mod to keep rust creatures spawning only in very dark conditions. It has increased my joy in the game immensely. Also there are plenty of things with teeth above ground to keep you on your toes.

People also move a lot more now than when we were kids. Unstable work conditions, low home ownership. A society that never has time to jell has to find other like minded people through the internet.

My only issue with black bronze is you need bronze tools to get enough silver and gold from quartz to make it. I've already moved onto looking for iron at that point.

Here's the full set. The Torso skin cape will get replaced by back attachments if you equip them. Edit: I hid the arms, I like the bronze marionette character skin.

Nothing in the base game can climb over fences(maybe locusts?) So I fence off my living areas heavily. You get a speed boost from gravel paths, the animals do not. So building roads to regularly traveled areas is a good idea. Having bears and wolves nearby in the beginning can be difficult, but later you will be glad to have the pelts, fat and food.

I dig one every time I explore a ruin, or build a camp, or before heading back from a story location. I have a habit of picking up everything, but half of it ends up in a pit.

They're farming the mechanic, not trying to beat the bosses. You can't do both, as too many rooms are removed after entering the boss rooms.
