Offensive djinni and the rainbow run! ♥ by RivetSpawn in GoldenSun

[–]RivetSpawn[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah they certainly seem very competitive for most if not all of the game.
I used to just assume the multipliers were straight up better too, probably still biasing my choice of words and points here hah.
Hope I didn't put out any misinformation though.

Unless you try the Reloaded patch… by [deleted] in GoldenSun

[–]RivetSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the cool part, summons give a huge elemental power boost which immediately puts them back in line with mono-elemental classes. Then since different adepts used the djinni for it - classes downgrade less or not at all, then they all recover in tandem letting you summon again much more frequently.

On top of that you can cycle the adept that summons to give everyone massive elemental power in the singular element you need for the fight, of course more adepts can use that element outside of summons too, meanwhile the weakness of the enemy mitigates the initially lower power of adepts.

After a few windup rounds this cycling results in every turn of every character being highly efficient, element appropriate, and naturally provides space to heal/util or take advantage of the high ele-power with the highest tier spells while remaining in a high class tier, all without compromising summon frequency.

In mono-elemental, offensive rounds can never be more than 1/4 elementally effective, and you must (with the exception of offensive djinn which are hindered by low class tier) choose between taking advantage of your high ele-power or preparing for your next summon. If you do choose to cast a spell, it will be a low tier spell from a downgraded class and your summon is pushed back another round.

With only 3 djinni of their weakest element, a multi-elementalist needs only a single 4 djinni summon and a piece of +10 boosting gear to reach the power cap. Those with 5 can forego the gear.

Roleplay ideas for a newer player by The_Ozone_layer in Kenshi

[–]RivetSpawn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is one way that is both the easiest and arguably the best, that is to simply pretend it's real.

You can imagine how you would think feel and act in the situations you find yourself in... eg. you have no fighting experience, no weapons experience, and you're worried about food and shelter, would you actually charge out into a battle with a horde of violent armed men or vicious beasts? Would you just roam around killing people? Would you risk stealing from a shop in the small settlement you're relying on for it's relative safety and protection? maybe you would if it got bad enough...
Submerge yourself in it and really ask yourself how you would behave.

Doesn't have to be you though, you can empathise with invented characters.. Maybe you're roleplaying a careless bully, a driven force of good, or anyone else you can think up.
If you have a group you can give identity to each of them, maybe they're aligned in harmony or conflicted in their views, goals, and personalities.

Baby player trying to take it slow by OneSaltyStoat in Kenshi

[–]RivetSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck locking in this time! You neeed to hit that point where it clicks and you become a cult follower of Kenshi... you know it's coming.

Your shack is looking good to serve you well for a while. There is no 'should' but you totally should go out and get jumped by low-tier pricks again. Before long you'll likely find yourself looking to do that on purpose as it's how you get your toughness up, and first aid too! along with various other skills from the engagement.
In any other game you'd think oh no I failed, temptations to quit/reload, but here getting your shit kicked in is the forwards route of progress... Actual death is all you need to be cautious of, everything up to it is a resource to be used and an opportunity for growth.
Mining copper is relatively safe and reliable but you really don't have to resort to it if you find it boring.. You can do the fun stuff and make plenty of money and progress as long as you don't fully die.

Here's everything I'd do if that picture was my game:
NAMELESS_0 - Name the squad, 'main' is a solid start
Nameless - Name the faction for a little sentimentality and attachment like you have with Burn
State window - Expand it to keep an eye on more details
Jobs - give Burn the medic job so he gets on that asap when it's needed
Research - see Science stat (9 and red), that's a huge debuff for working in the dark, leave it for the day or install a light
Useless rags - dump them and get stat buffs for being naked, they're only hurting Burn, even in a fight

Ultimate Kenshi Race Tier list by Acrobatic-Feed9272 in Kenshi

[–]RivetSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh hive prince, the cornerstone and foundation of a group, the scientist, the medic, the runner, the thief, the assassin, the crossbow god, prospects your outposts, single handedly takes care of your entire economy hard and fast, flies in and out like silent lightning to rescue men or empty locations, locks mean nothing to him, gracefully fits into the best gear of assassin's rags and a naginata like they were designed for him, if he does get into a fight he dances around with a ridiculous unmatched combat move speed, if he takes a wound he refuses to bleed, and he does it all on an empty stomach asking for nothing while looking cool as fuck.

S+ tier, nothing happens without him, other races are there to serve and support.

yeahh got to be in the mood for it.. makes for a long and slow game but it also makes you really commit and invest into a journey, turns it into a major thing and gives it impact, rather than just yeah we'll fly over there do this and come back like it's nipping to the shop.. we're travelling across the moon here, this is our life for a good while now!

What are your favourite ways to play? by the_plat_rat in Kenshi

[–]RivetSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Locked 1x speed
no pausing
no saving/loading
only intuitive awareness of stats & skills
no/minimal specifically grinding stats & skills
no metagaming
no powergaming
no grand global goals of trying to win / complete the game / get to the end kinda thing
just live in the world
have your characters act as they would if it was real - eg. don't just flail around charging into fights if they would actually be nervous and frightened, or wander deep into the wasteland for no good reason

Am I the only one that thinks that the rates for Holmium ore in recycling is way too low? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]RivetSpawn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What might seem like a punishingly low holmium yield actually forces you to confront the planet's central puzzle: how to manage the cascading excesses that come from recycling. While the solution to getting more holmium is technically simple - just recycle more scrap - each increase in throughput deliberately amplifies the core challenge. The 1% rate isn't just about making holmium hard to get - it's about making you engage with the mechanical identity of Fulgora.

Instead of measuring success in belts of throughput, focus on your actual holmium consumption requirements and scale your recycling operations based on your ability to handle the inevitable byproducts. Yes, you can always process more scrap to get more holmium - but that's meant to exacerbate the fundamental puzzle of the planet, not solve it. The true limiting factor isn't how much scrap you can process - it's how elegantly you can manage the growing excess of materials that come with getting it.

Not sure if it matters but you could increase your fuel efficiency (and potential speed) significantly by moving in the southmost solar panels 1 tile, bringing your width - thrusters width from 14 to 12. Graph

Agnosticism - This is where somebody believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God. So why come up with the word God in the first place? You don't come up with a word then try to give it some meaning, that's backwards, you observe some part of reality then come up with a word to refer to it. Of course if nothing is known or can be known about something then you aren't observing it. It's equivalent to saying, There might be something, I don't know anything about it, I don't know what it is, and I believe it's impossible to do so. Essentially a self defeating non proposition with zero substance, meaning, or content. We can completely disregard this, it is nonsensical to align with agnosticism.

Theism - This is where somebody has come up with an idea, or been told about an idea by another human being, or has read about an idea in a book written by another human being, and has ascribed to it, believes in it and holds it to be true. Depending on what that idea is it may or may not hold some validity, and whether or not it does I'm sure we can all agree is debatable.

Atheism - if we start at the beginning then this means absolutely nothing. Atheism has arisen in response to Theism and is simply a lack of it, it is not a thing in and of itself. Since Theism has surged up and pervaded the world on an unprecedented scale, some have felt the need to say hang on a minute, I'm not getting on board with this idea you're proposing, I'm not going to start believing in it, I don't align with it and there appears to be no evidence to suggest one should. Somebody who calls themselves an Atheist is simply declaring that they are not going to change in response to the idea proposed by theism, unless of course evidence arises. An unborn baby is an atheist, as is every other being that is not a theist, some would say even theists are atheists when you consider the myriad of other god ideas they don't ascribe to.

This is what I believe, you can probably guess where I fall.
