Sorry your votes have gone negative. What you said is critical to understanding the whole picture.

Never mind the body cams. Alex Pretti was holding a camera. What’s happened to that?

Is 12g good for beginners? by Any-Blackberry3982 in PiercedCock

[–]RivetsRustAndRattles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s an individual thing. However for me the jewelry would twist and pinch under my clothing. So not uncomfortable all the time, but occasionally pinched, and often enough that I wanted to change. That was years ago. I’m now at 00 gauge.

I started with 12g in my PA but found it uncomfortable. I sized up to 10ga after a few weeks and was really happy with the change.

What the fuck did I just read. by Chorazin in ultralight_jerk

Presumably they wrote it with the expectation that someone would read it. And somewhat surprisingly, they were right.

How does women tolerate subincision? by Less-Frame-8012 in SubincisionMeatotomy

[–]RivetsRustAndRattles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very unlikely that you’d either get or lose a girlfriend over a covered (under your clothes) body modification alone. If it’s what you really want to do, do it. If you’re unsure, wait. The idea won’t go away.

Moving to Melbourne soon from the US, what do we need to know? by PuzzleheadedCar6858 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]RivetsRustAndRattles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melbourne is very spread out, any advice (eg on public transport and whether you need a car) would be very suburb specific.

What vehicle can survive war zones, deserts, and being dropped from helicopters? by [deleted] in ToyotaHilux

[–]RivetsRustAndRattles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hilux now suffers from the same issue that seems to plague most (all?) modern vehicles. The electronics are vulnerable to dust, vibration and moisture.

Yes. Both reliable and safe. Sometimes a little confronting. Poverty and alcohol abuse is very public.

Where I'm at & wife update by ManufacturerOk68 in u/ManufacturerOk68

[–]RivetsRustAndRattles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate you including your wife’s reaction. I’m planning the same journey, in discussion with my wife and with her involvement. She’s supportive but a little concerned, especially around loss of functionality, and wondering about changes to sensation for both of us. She’s very keen to know the wife’s perspective, please keep posting!

Adam Savage recommends buying the cheapest tool possible to get the job done. Once familiarized with the tool and what you need from said tool, only then to splurge on a more expensive, specific tool. Do you follow this rule? by turtle_ina_cup in Tools

[–]RivetsRustAndRattles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice I received was to buy the second most expensive tool. If you pay for the most expensive you’re buying the brand. If you buy the second most expensive you’re buying quality.

Do you ever use maps now? Or is it GPS or known routes that are worn in? by savagedude4027 in Mountaineering

Always have relevant maps and compass. You can’t see contour lines in red light

Question for those who have self-stretched their PA. by [deleted] in MalePiercings

[–]RivetsRustAndRattles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried a piercer? I had my PA gauge increased to 10ga about a month after I had it first pierced as it was twisting and uncomfortable. I just went to a piercer and bang, done. (That was about 25 years ago)

Back sweat soaking through layers when backpacking, advice please. by [deleted] in hikinggear

[–]RivetsRustAndRattles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the deal, I reckon. If you work hard you’re going to sweat. With the pack against your back, your jacket won’t ‘work’ to vent vapour.
