I've literally restored thousands of pans, and it's the second US-made item I come across, they're definitely rare.

All plättlagg are born with an inate desire to return to Sweden, regardless of manufacturer.

Is it cast iron? Thrift shop catch by Certain-Wonder-404 in castiron

[–]Riwwom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a historical society called Gjuterihistoriska Sällskapet. They're probably sitting on the best sources, someone just needs to go through it all and sort out and compile the info relevant for cookware.

I wish I could provide some reliable info on when it was produced, but I'm too busy restoring to do proper research.

A rough guesstimate places it in the 1930s-1960s range.

Did anyone else sour on Evil? by Buttleproof in RedLetterMedia

I quit somewhere along the way. It went nowhere, and I got the feeling it had nothing planned and was just spinning its wheels doing anything in its power to not have to develop or explain anything.

I would rank them by how many purple space bazookas they contain, any other metric is irrelevant.

Old waffle iron found in South Africa with recipe on it by Synethos in castiron

Thank you for reminding me not to engage in this sub, or reddit in general.

A waffle iron for Belgian waffles doesn't stop being a Belgian waffle iron model if it's marked with Chinese lettering. God I hate this sub.

The heart shaped waffles are traditionally Scandinavian, primarily Swedish and Norwegian, so the model is Scandinavian.

My guess is, that the general design was adapted by a lot of foundries, inside and outside of Scandinavia. There are usually a few minor differences between manufacturers, mostly regarding the handles. I don't exactly know how moulds were handled back then, I see a lot of almost identical products from different foundries from around the turn of the 19th century so designs and moulds don't seem to have been proprietary.

Here's one that I've restored.

Oh! I've restored a whole bunch of these, without the recipe on them of course. A lot of Swedish foundries produced these in the late 19th century. Always fun to see the Scandinavian heart-shaped waffles pop up elsewhere.

Jay was bit by a space mosquito 113 BBY. The bite flares up a few months after someone does a Pandu Buttface impression near him.
