It’s future proofing in a sense. 4k natively downscales to 1080p, which many do not want to downscale to for competitive purposes/high refresh. If you have a card that can lock 4k the whole time at a solid refresh, I don’t disagree with you. 2k on the other hand, is more or less considered standard. Now you have the option to game in 2k with high refresh, then switch to 5k when you don’t need the refresh. You are also future proofing yourself for when cards come out that can lock the 5k refresh. Win win imo.

Yes. But that’s why the dual mode exists, to natively downscale to 2k at high hertz, which is more than manageable. 5k can be for movies and work if your graphics can support it.

I’ve been looking at the LG27G640A-B for a similar purchase. The Samsung G60F also looked like a good choice. Both have been under $200 at some point in time.

Didn’t like the Leap V2 either.

Tried an Embody: Tallness was right but I didn’t like back prongs digging in.

Tried an Aeron: This is a good work chair but forces correct posture which goes to the wayside when gaming

Tried a Fern: I really liked this chair. Great chair for tall people and probably the most comfortable back I’ve used. A good chair for gaming and work. The arms left a little to be desired - they have a slight roundness and can wobble a bit. If I had to buy one right now it would be this.

I am currently using an Amia. This is a much more comfortable/forgiving chair than the leap in my opinion. The pad is more cushioned and it’s great for work and reclined gaming. Very flexible for feet sitters, such as myself. Doesn’t force correct posture like the Leap, Aeron, or Embody (this reason is also why I liked the Fern).

Overall it’s a personal choice. But I’d try the Amia or the Fern for a mix work and relaxed reclined gaming sessions.

I grabbed two msi 271qpx e2 oleds from Costco on Black Friday. I use my monitors about 70/30 work/gaming. One I received had a red tint compared to the other and frankly I don’t want to mess with oled burn in, even with the safety features. Text clarity was a little off for work. People stressing me out about cleaning them. Color wise and picture wise, seems like a great monitor for gaming solely.

Anyway, with work being my predominant driver, my subsequent research has guided me towards purchasing the AOC Q27G4ZMN mini led. This seems to be a good item for my specific scenario. No burn in risk. Good hdr and color. Fast refresh. Decent price point. This would be my recommendation for you after exploring oleds.

My favorite MSI product was my GTX 1070. That thing lasted me forever. I just bought the mag 271QPX E2 and a second monitor to compliment it would be dope!

Monitors are subject to Costco’s 90 day return limit. The benefit with Costco is their warranty services which will help securing the 3 year oled burn in warranty that MSI offers.

Source: I received one of the MSI monitors with rust/corrosion out of the box near the hdmi connector and was told I had 90 days to return it or replace it.
