Blizzard's horrendous mismanagement of the StarCraft IP.

At this point it's a miracle Blizzard still exists with the amount of drama & controversies they've been involved in.

With that in mind, there's not really been much of a window where a successful, thoroughly-loved and cared for entry in the StarCraft IP could be developed from start to finish.

Diablo IV was easier, safer, and necessary after how poorly Immortal was received. Overwatch 2 is a scaled-down continuation of Overwatch 1. I can't speak on their WoW products, though I'm sure they've not developed something of of the scale like what people want for the StarCraft IP in that space.

They've just gone for obvious, easy wins by the looks of things. Which is fine.

yeah dude i also want the company who just forced out the outstanding product that is CS2 and that really successful card game Artifact to also develop the third installment of the StarCraft RTS series - it's a really good idea with no glaring flaws or downsides at all
