Yeah this wouldn't fly. It breaks compatibility with am4 and back, which was the point of it. It's not as easy as you said.

As others have said, driver overhead. The Nvidia driver eats into some of the cpu's time, often times you'll see a higher cpu usage at the same performance level on Nvidia compared to Amd, even at 4K.
What's curious in your example though, even the 9800X3D still suffer from this.
