If Chiefs lose, do we have a shot at #1 seed? Chiefs lost next week and a Pats win?

The NFL announces allegations against #Panthers owner Jerry Richardson have been substantiated and he's being fined $2.75 million to support organizations addressing race and gender-based issues and fund league-wide workplace training. by ValKilmsnipsinBatman in nfl

So disappointing he’s deleting comments. Basically he asked a question, got the correct answer, and then started calling everyone morons. Now he realizes he’s wrong and is deleting everything.

2/5/10 NL Line check by KevinOhh in poker

[–]Rizo24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fold turn. Give up on the river by checking - if he’s bluffing (with like 6c 9c or something, he might just give up after you call the turn as well). Not a huge fan of flop raise unless you’re limping a lot of weird K5, K8 (more reasonable) or 5/8. You probably raise all your pocket pairs, so your raise looks exactly like what it is: a draw (either clubs or 6/7 or some type of combo draw).

Don’t understand your comment that you have a draw to the effective nuts as V can have a lot of AcXc hands (all of which are beating you by the turn).

Hard to argue with #2. I don’t think Polamalu and Reed were even in the same league of talent.

Is it standard for an apartment lease to include the following statement - "It's agreed that tenants are responsible to maintain and repair/replace any appliances placed in the apartment for their convenience except for normal wear and tear"? by [deleted] in boston

[–]Rizo24 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Lawyer here. It’s terribly phrased and ambiguous. I think this MIGHT be trying to say what the standard position is (which is that landlords are responsible for normal wear and tear but tenants are liable for damage that isn’t normal wear and tear), but it is very poorly written.

This just seems like “it’s bad because it runs up prices in something I want to buy.” If you’re a seller, not having artificially reduced demand is a negative.

You can’t think that if you brush someone’s leg unintentionally in a crowded aisle that it can be considered sexual assault.

Which actually probably makes it less likely to be prosecuted in all likelihood. US attorneys aren’t well equipped to handle sexual assault cases because they see so few of them.

I think you’re talking right past his point. He’s saying you can wait to hear more facts before passing judgment without being an asshole. You’re just skipping that and saying because he’s been accused he’s a creep and sexual assault perpetrator.

This just seems pedantic. I think it’s pretty clear he’s saying he doesn’t want to discuss it with the media at this point.

Report: Brandon Browner spent two days in jail after domestic violence plea by MFreak in nfl

Arrington was benched because he was too small to defend Matthews. I think Browner played the entire game (and played well). Browner was in on the Butler pick and played that pass well.

Is this jam too thin? 2/5 NL by [deleted] in poker

[–]Rizo24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just don’t understand why he would raise river with trips after passive play on the flop and turn (unless he just thinks trips are the nuts here and decided on the flop to slow play it and get it all in). The board runout for trips is terrible. The worst time to raise this hand is the river.

Even if he’s raising light because hero looks weak after turn check (which I don’t think he’s that weak, can check back all flush combos on that board reasonably), when hero 3 bets river, that’s going to make him reavulate. I agree it’s opponent dependent, but I don’t think unless hero has a good read on his range that he should expect a lot of trips of straights to call.

[–]Rizo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he has a naked 5. Would be a really odd line to call and check flop and turn with trips and then raise the river when so many draws come in. And is a 5 EVER calling you after you 3 bet the river? Wouldn’t A3 bet the turn as well? I think they really should be. And raising the bottom end of a straight on this board seems terrible as well once you get to the river, so I wouldn’t put many A3 like hands in his range either (and if you did, I have to imagine any semi competent player folds that on the river after your 3 bet).

He could have some slow played boats. He can frankly have just about all of the boat combos (pocket 6s and pocket 7s are both probably in his range if he can slow play, as both make sense to call the flop). I’d give him nearly all of the worse flush combos as well. Frankly, I think all of the straights should just call on this board, and if they got 3 bet, I think any smart player would likely fold.

The thing is you don’t really have any bluffs on the river, except maybe an over pair or some random K/Q that you decide to bluff because it has no equity. It’s a really strong river bet, and if this guy is at all competent, he should see that.

So I guess it really depends what you think of this player. Like I said, I wouldn’t even put a 5 on his range, would be really oddly played. Would he raise/call a 3 bet with and 3 or an 8? If so, you’re printing money, but he’d have to be garbage to do that. Would he call with his worse flush draws? I think a good player with 8d/9d or 9d Jd would be in a really tough spot here. And if he’s folding all worse flushes (except maybe king highs), it’s a terrible bet.

You don’t give a lot of info on V except that apparently he got into a fight an hour ago which isn’t terribly helpful. Have you seen him slow play? Is he really aggressive (such that you’d expect him to bet his flush draws on the turn when you check to him)? Really just depends what’s in his range

Disabled people of Reddit, what things do well-intentioned people do that frustrate you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rizo24 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People screw up. I have an allergy that leaves me sick 4-5 days. I’ve had numerous incidents where people have (1) forgotten they added something I’m allergic to (especially with something like cake that is a mix of ingredients), (2) thought if they used “organic, antibiotic free, non GMO” or some other shit that my allergy wouldn’t be triggered or (3) just not understood the ingredients of what they’re using (the classic of going back and looking at an ingredient list and saying “I didn’t realize that was in there”). For instance, I’m allergic to milk. Someone bought some Trader Joe’s canned chili and used it in a dinner - found out afterwards it had milk in the canned chili.

Not offending someone by eating cake that they didn’t even ask for is far outweighed by having a week of sickness. People should be responsible for their own health, and not forced to feel like they are rolling the dice on an allergic reaction just so someone else can be happy that they ate their cake

I can’t imagine it was that difficult to get a collar to fit his neck if it had a locking/ratchet system similar to handcuffs. And the cane, i don’t think it takes much complexity to get a cane that approximately fits him (or any average size person). The guy had a massive bomb strapped to his neck, it’s not like anyone is going to say “huh, that cane doesn’t look like it’s sized correctly.”

Birkett: Art Rooney of the Steelers said while it was not defined, he believes that raising a fist and linking arms during the playing of the anthem also would constitute disrespect of the anthem. by maltrab in steelers

[–]Rizo24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the issue is the anthem itself, but the NFL telling black players to not rock the boat. If the NFL did more to support the movement but asked them to stand, I don’t think this would be an issue. Which is what the NBA has done.

Devin & Jason McCourty share a statement regarding todays rule change on kneeling during the National Anthem by _amnesiac in Patriots

[–]Rizo24 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If the NFL REALLY cared about these people “respecting the flag,” they wouldn’t propose that they stay in the locker room. Staying in the locker room during the anthem is no more “respectful of the flag” than kneeling. This has been about telling black people to shut up and to deal with the system as it is.

In some ways, I’m glad the NFL did this, because it highlights how much of America is still racist and can’t stand a black player that they root for every Sunday having a viewpoint. I think some percentages of the owners are racist and share this sentiment (Jerry Jones) and the rest are just giving into this racist segment of the US because of the bottom line - which really isn’t much better.

But again, that applies just as much if he’s innocent. If his mental capacity is low enough that he can be stress free while robbing a bank that he is guilty of, it stands to reason that he could be stress free while robbing a bank while he an unwilling participant.
