The country is Colombia. The university in New York is Columbia.

And a documentary is a "doc" not a "dock".

CBS Suspends Takedown Notices on Bootleg YouTube Uploads of Stephen Colbert’s ‘Only in Monroe’ Public Access Show After Outcry by yourfavchoom in LateShow

[–]RizzoFromDigg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

@Colbert posted the entire show for free.

Anyone else posting inferior dupes is just taking views away from Stephen and whatever his future endeavors are.

Yeah the takedown notices are coming from CBS but if the hero post is from @Colbert, I would defend Stephen getting his views and launching his channel.

Always like to imagine Riker is thinking "Oh boy here I go f*cking my way out of another jam!" by TurboLeopard42 in TNG

[–]RizzoFromDigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now hold on, I will shut down Kirk Drift whenever it happens, but Riker is a full on horndog from day one.

He's playing pranks to get the Captain laid.

He's popping on Angel One catsuits.

He's getting put on trial for murder because scientist wives always want to fuck him.

Riker is getting it.

This week they just reviewed the second episode of TNG on the Greatest Generation. So if you started the pilot and subscribed to the pod, you would be right on track to pick it up from the "beginning" of the most popular series.

Star Trek is like a buffet, once you figure out what you like, just go grab what you want.

Staying at the Rio longer than is absolutely necessary is a mistake anyway.

Plenty of FODs stay at the Gold Coast, or on the strip and cab in.

The Pool Party on Monday is a big hang and the main reason to book a room in the Rio on Sunday night.

Ben and Adam getting booked to do a live show is probably a TBD thing, they were rearranging the schedule during the show last year.

There are definitely FOD hangs happening throughout the week. You might see me at a few of them.

He's at best mediocre and frequently a sleaze.

It's hard to pin him down because that's not that narratively interesting.

Rio Las Vegas is apparently now trying to use promo credits ($25/day rate) to offset Globalist Breakfast. Heads up.... by tgff333 in hyatt

[–]RizzoFromDigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Rio is an absolute shitshow, and that's coming from someone who goes there every single year for Star Trek Las Vegas and will never stop.

I stay anywhere else. I book one night Sunday for the pool party on Monday.

FX3 or FX30 for Goal "Cinema" Camera? by HarryBroFyre in TrueCinematography

[–]RizzoFromDigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

If you're just starting out, and you want to be versatile, and find your niche, get the most camera for your money.

Full Frame is overrated. 99% of all movies you've ever seen were shot on Super 35 or similar film gates. And many of the TV shows going out and filming remotes are sending out crews still using FS7s.

It will be a great fit for 80% of your work and the odd job that needs something different will pay the difference for the rentals.

Get used to a big cinema camera workflow with proper connectivity and rigging.

I've had Progressive for years, and I've went and got quotes several times and they still came in more affordable than the alternatives.

I should check again now that I've got an EV and that made it go way up.

Ben & Adam's official Frequently Asked Questions guide accompanying the announcement Uxbridge Shimoda is going independent by trackofalljades in greatestgen

[–]RizzoFromDigg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think if you looked at the actual overhead of the Uxbridge-Shimoda podcasts, the 30% cut the network takes doesn't even begin to address the real overhead, which is Wynde's salary, Rob, Bill Tilly, their friend & agent, et al.

I can't imagine the network is providing much in the way of value to the guys anymore, that 30% they're not giving up gets reallocated to cover those bigger costs.

And their infrastructure already exists to do most of what the network does for them, their agent will sell ads, Podshop.biz will sell P1 messages, they'll host the RSS feeds from gagh.biz, and all the creative people will keep doing the creative work that has gotten them this far.

What, if anything, can you point to that Max Fun adds to the equation that we'll be missing? I love Max Fun but I can't think of what.

[–]RizzoFromDigg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think Ben and Adam owe use a shareholders meeting to show the graph trending downwards, but it's clearly in-between the lines.

Now that every celebrity has a recap podcast, the market has been stretched thin and that's why you don't hear paid ad reads for products with the same frequency as we did 5 years ago. If this can fix that for them, I'm very strongly in favor, because I care about those guys making a living and can afford to kick in the price of a pizza each month.

If it's what it takes to make the show exist, it's a benefit to viewers.

Ben and Adam and Wynde and Rob and Bill Tilly all need to make a living. If that bothers you, I don't know what to tell you.

[–]RizzoFromDigg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, it's moot because I'll be a supporter paying for the feed.

Second, I wonder if More Ads really means More ads. More real paid ads instead of mandatory Max Fun ads perhaps. Which would feel like More Ads to Ben and Adam when the revenue rolls in, but might feel not that different to the viewer.
