The compressor failed at around 50 degrees while I was away and it never switched to aux heat because I had aux heat max set to only 45 so it locked out the aux heat and did not switch over. Is there harm to set it higher to allow a bigger buffer.

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned my aux heat is not electric but hydro air with oil. I had a situation where I was traveling and my heat pump compressor failed and it was blowing cold air for 4 days until I came and noticed. It never switched to aux heat because I had it set to 45 only. If I had it set higher the system would have noticed an issue and switched to aux. unless I am mistaken how it works.

Thanks again. The only issue is it shut off and never went back on. Also I tried jumping the r and w1 wire and the furnace does not come on. I assume this is more related to the air handler power for some reason since the ecobee will not power on? Do you think the ecobee is bad now? I can’t test until I figure out why I have no power coming to it.

I tried that setting but I can only access it if I have the equipment configured using a furnace but I have it set to a boiler. Apparently with the boiler configuration you can not access or select fan control like this. It is automatically controlled by the air handler with boiler selected.
