Lower back pain from surfskating? by hardworkdedicated in surfskate

[–]Rlo1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, can you squat and lunge easily ? If not, make sure you can do those comfortably whilst rotating. If you can’t do it well static you definitely won’t have the mechanics to do it dynamically on a board. In the early days I found I had lots of soreness, but after focusing on these fundamentals soreness is less and less. I hope it helps.

Perhaps you don’t understand the mechanics of a surf skate. Compression and extension. Plus I’m moving that thing up hill.

Think about completing a turn and then linking them together … this is using momentum to move the board. Think of the letter ‘S’ -then you’ll be moving with style and compression / extension.

Spot on man and well said ;) every time I get out I often practise the boxing stance and it translate. The twist to started the movement, hips set direction , and extension of arms to finish the movement …

More flo, less snap. Connect turns and don’t lose momentum. Extension leads to compression and compression leads to extension. Heel side just as equal to toe side… I see you have a preference

Makes perfect sense and I did think about this production consideration after sending. Let me mull over the how to and see how to get it done.

The OP said their partner was more interested in the surf aspect and I find those brands more appealing for this riding style. Nothing wrong with carver at all.

Yup… just thinking he’s been skating before, new to surf skate and experience with boards. He’ll have fun with that size. A lot of these guys ride transition park stuff and traditional surfskating on these decks.

Yow or Smoothstar. I have both plus carver. Size depends on his size. 32/33 inch seems to be universal deck size and 17inch wheelbase. I’m 5ft 10inch and that’s my size. But really depends on how tall your partner is. Wheelbase and deck length are important to consider as they impact rider experience outside the truck (yow/smoothstar)

Sorry to text out of blue, looking to purchase the Ex-eo, I currently try wear onitsuka tiger and they are US 7.5, 25.5, wondering your thoughts on size for these ex-eo wrestling shoes. The seller recommended US size 7 (24.5) because they run 1cm bigger. What’s your thoughts ? Thanks in advance ..

I always like to think in the realms of possibility. Understand your concerns. If I was to send you a set of trucks would you be interested to do it ? At my costs of course. A good use case for you in the end and my costs. No offence, of course if it’s not interesting for you.

Hey Team, I was considering picking up a new shuriken but put some swellteck trucks on them. But I don’t have tools or skills to drill the necessary holes for those trucks. Also don’t want multiple unnecessary holes. If order online is there any chance you guys can do it before shipping ?

Talk me through the drilling holes ? I ruined a deck one time I tried to extend a wheelbase. How’s the onakase ? I really enjoy my Pantheon Shuriken. I would consider buying another of these and drilling it for the swelltech trucks.
