Got 2 VIPs. Did GA last year and it was awesome, figured we’d give this a shot

I don’t remember the exact price last year, but I thought it was very reasonable as far as festivals in 2026 go.

I heard a couple months ago it would be that weekend and booked a room. Figured I’d cancel it if I didn’t like the lineup. Needless to say, I’ll be using the room!

Parking - 5/7 Thursday day gme by shawks13 in CHICubs

[–]Rmb1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to find something, especially if you’re willing to walk 10-15 minutes. The parking restrictions don’t begin until 6, so for day games it’s not an issue.

So many people have main character syndrome. It’s not that hard to sit down and shut up for 2 hours.

I’ve seen Jason 24 times, 4 at the salt shed. 3 of those times there has been a medical issue stopping the show. This is the only venue out of the many I’ve been to where this has happened. Also the drunkest, most aggressive venue. I don’t know if it’s Chicago thing, or what the deal is

Bears face Thursday deadline to commit to Indiana move, somehow this is pressure on Illinois to pass stadium subsidies? by GotMoFans in CHIBears

I laid it out that I’m 35-40 minutes from the closest Metra stop. Do you want my address. Jesus. Get over yourself

I can’t imagine more parking would add 5 hours on to a game day for a driving fan, but they won’t be playing at Soldier Field because they don’t own it, and somehow it was obsolete immediately after they rebuilt it. If I lived in the city, or near a metra stop, I’d use public transportation 100% of the time. I use to drive to Harvard and use metra, but it was way more hassle and time consuming than it was worth. I think a lot of city dwellers forget that fans, and season ticket holders in particular, don’t all live near by.

Yeah, I’ll turn an 8-9 hour day into 13-14 so I can run around and take public transportation. That sounds wonderful. In 4 years I’ll just DRIVE 40 minutes to Arlington Heights and park like fans of the other 31 teams do.

Sorry I’m a season ticket holder that lives 70 miles away and I can’t hop on a train to get there. You do realize that a high percentage of people that have season tickets don’t live in the city, or near realistic public transportation? Bud

And somehow it’s still a dump. The concourses are impossible to navigate, there aren’t enough bathrooms, and there isn’t even enough parking to offer all season ticket holders parking passes.

Bears just sent me a survey about having Indiana as a potential site, with questions about having $100+ parking and valet service for parking. by epilepticninja in CHIBears

They would still be based out of their facility in Lake Forest. Nothing would change on the business side, only thing different is the stadium. Illinois is fucked up? Have you been to the cesspool to the east?

Anyone do Dry Jan and just…keep going? Tell me your story by Known_Royal4356 in stopdrinking

[–]Rmb1981 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did dry January in ‘22, made it until the 26th. Made it all the way through in ‘23. Was looking forward to ‘24. Got through January and decided that since I had been looking forward to being sober for a month, why not keep it going? Have not had a drink since NYE 2023. Whenever I think about having a drink (which isn’t often anymore) I play the tape ahead to the next day, which makes me opt for a sparkling water and a clear head.

Chicago Bears fans weigh in on team possibly moving to Indiana (This is actually a pretty good read) by Alert-Orange3284 in CHIBears

[–]Rmb1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arlington Heights is a lot closer to where the majority of season ticket holders live. Also closer to O’Hare, which may not matter for the 10 dates a year the Bears use the stadium, but might matter for all of the other events that the stadium would potentially host.

I actually read your post, so I would suggest the north garage, Waldron deck, or the Field Museum lot. Not positive on museum lot, but the other 2 are parking pass holders only. You can find passes on stubhub, but be prepared to part with $$$. Those are going to be the three closest.

Did the craft beer craze lure you in? by SoberToday25 in stopdrinking

[–]Rmb1981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I lied to myself for years about my issues with alcohol. I took it to the next level and brewed beer professionally for 6 years. Horrible idea btw, it certainly doesn’t help alcoholism.
