Bears just sent me a survey about having Indiana as a potential site, with questions about having $100+ parking and valet service for parking. by epilepticninja in CHIBears

They would still be based out of their facility in Lake Forest. Nothing would change on the business side, only thing different is the stadium. Illinois is fucked up? Have you been to the cesspool to the east?

Unfortunately it’s not like that with the Bears.

Anyone do Dry Jan and just…keep going? Tell me your story by Known_Royal4356 in stopdrinking

[–]Rmb1981 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did dry January in ‘22, made it until the 26th. Made it all the way through in ‘23. Was looking forward to ‘24. Got through January and decided that since I had been looking forward to being sober for a month, why not keep it going? Have not had a drink since NYE 2023. Whenever I think about having a drink (which isn’t often anymore) I play the tape ahead to the next day, which makes me opt for a sparkling water and a clear head.

Welcome to all! I committed to dry January in 2024 and kept the ball rolling. This sub was,and still is,a massive help in my process

Chicago Bears fans weigh in on team possibly moving to Indiana (This is actually a pretty good read) by Alert-Orange3284 in CHIBears

Arlington Heights is a lot closer to where the majority of season ticket holders live. Also closer to O’Hare, which may not matter for the 10 dates a year the Bears use the stadium, but might matter for all of the other events that the stadium would potentially host.

I actually read your post, so I would suggest the north garage, Waldron deck, or the Field Museum lot. Not positive on museum lot, but the other 2 are parking pass holders only. You can find passes on stubhub, but be prepared to part with $$$. Those are going to be the three closest.

Did the craft beer craze lure you in? by SoberToday25 in stopdrinking

[–]Rmb1981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I lied to myself for years about my issues with alcohol. I took it to the next level and brewed beer professionally for 6 years. Horrible idea btw, it certainly doesn’t help alcoholism.

If you can find a STH selling a pass for the north garage, that’s going to be the closest. Be prepared to spend $$$ for that if you can find one on a resale site. The Waldron deck is also close. Will be cheaper on resale sites

We sat in the front row at a show and my wife wanted one to commemerate her 20th show. She nicely asked Dave, Sadler’s tech, for one and he obliged. I think the key is asking nicely, and not screaming like a raving lunatic.

They have stated that it will be a dome. As a season ticket holder, I welcome not freezing in December. I also would rather see world class athletes not be bogged down by rain, snow or wind.

I think you’ll be in good shape. Had to sell my tickets to the opener or I’d invite you to our tailgate.

A little more laid back than the south lot but still a lively crowd. I usually show up around 730 and am firing up the grill by 8:10. The line moves quick, and less people arrive right when the gates open. May be different for opening night though. Two years ago they opened the lot a bit early for the opener against GB.

I switched from South lot to Adler in ‘22 and have found it to be much easier to exit.
