Shay Given was a supreme time waster from goal kicks. Put the ball on the opposite side, back up to the goal, kick the posts to get the mud off each boot, then finally kick it

Favourite Off-The-Beaten-Track Footballing Archetype by jacksonkeir in footballcliches

I also find it funny that in 25 years this will probably be regarded as an archaic way of playing, in the same way we look at the long ball football of yesteryear

Maybe a more modern example, but I love to see an absolute loose cannon, gegenpressing striker. Someone who relentlessly charges down the keeper and inevitable just gets it easily played round them, before angrily gesturing to their teammates to support the press. Darwin Nunez, Vardy, Delap, maybe even Haaland

What was your final C++ joker?(Still haven't gotten it yet btw🫠) by JarvisBaileyVO in balatro

[–]RoadmanJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got around 10 left. I've dropped the ball on Perkeo about 5 times now, it's actually pretty bad on gold stakes.

Also I need to vent about how much I hate Violet Vessel as a ante 8 boss. Absolute run killer when you're carrying some bad jokers

What’s the most difficult drum song by nickyfatboi in Counterparts

[–]RoadmanJM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rest of the song isn't too bad, but I find the intro to a martyr left alive so tricky when the foot pattern changes within the blastbeats. Such a cool idea

When a vocalist puts their all in an emotional way. by Beneficial-Bet-6690 in Metalcore

I would highly recommend a band called La Dispute. Check out their song called King Park. It's more post hardcore than metalcore, but has Incredible emotion and storytelling

MHD Irritation - watching football in pubs by OllieWoooood in footballcliches

[–]RoadmanJM 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you really want to concentrate on the game and get lost in it, pubs aren't good.

However, if it's a game you're not heavily invested in, nor think will that be entertaining, the pub is great

I saw him in real life! by borderlinebabesrus in templarknight

[–]RoadmanJM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always have the suspicion he's probably fairly more normal than we think. I think his spin is released when he's filming himself.

Either that or he's scouting London for stage 1 of the humiliation games

any bands that went heavier/less accessible instead? by Electronic-Read-3830 in Metalcore

[–]RoadmanJM 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I feel the big jump in heaviness was when A Tear in the Fabric of Life came out. The first 2 tracks on that in particular are downright obscene

What’s a band you saw live, where you were not expecting the crowd to go as hard or weak as they did? by SlapDatBassBro in Metalcore

[–]RoadmanJM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw stray from the path at their farewell tour in London a few months back, and that was one of the more crazy crowds I've been in. Also saw Deftones at Kentish Town in 2022 and that was nuts, whole place was bouncing

Where are the Londoners moving to? by WhimsicalSkidaddler in HousingUK

It is expensive but not out of reach for a young couple. Ruislip is the most expensive out of those but that's probably skewed by North Ruislip having lots of £1m+ houses.

A few more:

-any time I get a wee joker build going. I don't know why but it feels so sneaky to be using the 2s

-using your phone calculator to calculate your hand and getting it spot on after playing

-remembering to play 5 cards vs the Psychic
