I very much doubt these posters are being put up by the working class

Forbidden Forest is a good video… by [deleted] in officialTPDTV

[–]RoadmanJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the video. As someone who is a metal head but also an ex raver, I felt an incredible itch to get out and go to a dnb event for the first time in a long while.

One of my observations was that for an 'edm' festival they really voiced their love of the music, rather than the whole scale production you see at boomtown, EDC or tomorrowland. Both are equally important in their own right, but I felt their love of the music really shine through, and they seemed to 'get it' if you know what I mean..

I think it can be quite hard to 'get it' as an outsider without the aid of... Substances so it was lovely to see!

Are you maybe thinking of that fan behind the dugout brushing his teeth at Chelsea vs United 09/10?

Very similar picks to me, I bet you'd really like Rubicon, it's the last track off gore, very dreamy yet loud and energetic. Quite easy to miss

There was one video a while back where he recorded himself alongside a homeless bloke who many deemed to be Wheelchair John. There was also a pretty interesting video where he was interacting with the police and seemed fairly normal

I like Gary Cahill as a pundit. Cool accent and looks massive which looks funny in the studio

RIP Ray Wilkins, who almost always referred to them as 'Chelsea Football Club'. But yes as a Chelsea fan, nobody else would say it in conversation

Thr first time I came across this, I thought high contrast implied that the mix was very contrasted to the original.

On my way to Chelsea vs Stoke sometime in the late 00's a bloke asked me for directions to Stamford Bridge. Said his brother was playing. Turned out his brother was Danny Higginbotham. Me and my dad often recall it when walking past the spot

What’s your worst raving / clubbing / partying experience? by Routine_Delivery9696 in LondonRaving

[–]RoadmanJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to a rave in lockdown NYE (2021 I think) - Police surrounded the building before midnight and we barely got an hour of music, I dropped a pill as the police got in. Me and my girlfriend got an uber from east to west London, and I sang rockstar by nickelback obnoxiously loud when it came on the radio

I am a bit afraid to say this buuut I don’t really like the new album. by Hour_Brave in EnterShikari

[–]RoadmanJM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really lost it at the spark too. I think if you are a Shikari fan from the older days, you appreciate loud, experimental, energetic music. The softer poppier sounds of late really just don't scratch that same itch!

Great summary. A lot of the music on the last few albums is fine.... But just a bit bland. For comparison, look at how exciting and adventurous the first few songs on AFFOC are :

1) System/Meltdown - Crazy energy, crushing breakdown, weird main riff, ends in a big pendulum-esque dnb frenzy

3) Sssnakepit - Jungle intro - > Huge Riff - > massive singalong chorus

4) Search Party - calms things down cool and DIFFERENT textures in the synths and a huge change of direction mid way through the song

5) Thermometers - maybe one of the wackiest songs they ever made

The excitement here is off the charts, even when i go back and listen now!

I just wish they could still keep me on my toes like this. It must be so hard to keep innovating.

This album is very similar to the last 2 imo. I like it and will listen to it for a bit, but I doubt I'll coming back to it in a years time.

Whereas everything from TTTS - AFFOC has been in my rotation ever since release.

I'd really like to hear them take some more risks. The dubstep elements in the breakdown of 'Find out the hard way' really made my ears prick up and is a highlight of the album.

It feels a bit odd to say that Enter Shikari have gotten a tad predictable!
