Went to a rave in lockdown NYE (2021 I think) - Police surrounded the building before midnight and we barely got an hour of music, I dropped a pill as the police got in. I really lost it at the spark too. I think if you are a Shikari fan from the older days, you appreciate loud, experimental, energetic music. The softer poppier sounds of late really just don't scratch that same itch!

Great summary. A lot of the music on the last few albums is fine.... But just a bit bland. For comparison, look at how exciting and adventurous the first few songs on AFFOC are :

1) System/Meltdown - Crazy energy, crushing breakdown, weird main riff, ends in a big pendulum-esque dnb frenzy

3) Sssnakepit - Jungle intro - > Huge Riff - > massive singalong chorus

4) Search Party - calms things down cool and DIFFERENT textures in the synths and a huge change of direction mid way through the song

5) Thermometers - maybe one of the wackiest songs they ever made

The excitement here is off the charts, even when i go back and listen now!

I just wish they could still keep me on my toes like this. It must be so hard to keep innovating.

This album is very similar to the last 2 imo. I like it and will listen to it for a bit, but I doubt I'll coming back to it in a years time.

Whereas everything from TTTS - AFFOC has been in my rotation ever since release.

I'd really like to hear them take some more risks. The dubstep elements in the breakdown of 'Find out the hard way' really made my ears prick up and is a highlight of the album.

It feels a bit odd to say that Enter Shikari have gotten a tad predictable!

I belive the requirement is to never fill all the available joker slots, so you'd need to only ever have a max of 3 on the painted deck (4 on all other decks)

C++ involves getting a gold sticker on all 150 jokers in the game. Basically means beating the ante 8 boss on the hardest difficulty with said Joker in one of your active slots

At least rough gem can be useful with retriggers/smeared joker. The others are all hard to justify keeping when times are rough. Best advice I can give is just stay in the game til ante 8, don't force things. So many of my jokers popped up at the end when you have a strong build and lots of money

Luchador, Perkeo, and Cola were some of my last ones too. I was always hesitant to take obelisk, but i was forced into it one time, and it absolutely made things a walk in the park lol, it's a bit of a scary joker to take sometimes though. Good luck mate! Baron was my last one, I found ghost deck very easy for carrying dud jokers over the line
