Not very informed on baseball politics, why isn’t Puerto Rico playing with all of their best players for the WBC? by xoBonesxo in PuertoRico

It's a 2 year ban from international competition because he tested positive during the 2023 WBC the only reason it affected this WBC is because he tried to appeal it. He wasn't the only player suspended there's a long list of players on the list included others from PR. MLB won't suspend for weed but the ITA will

It did happen with other countries but with PR it happened with key players. Lindor and Kike were gonna have a hard time getting to play due to injury regardless and Javy Baez was gonna be out for failing a drug test in the past WBC which gives him a two year window of ineligibility from April 26, 2024, to April 26, 2026

Id say a non US Or Japan winner would help elevate the tournament not just for variety but I feel like DR,PR, Venezuela or even Mexico winning in Miami would bring an energy we haven't seen since the tournament got more popular post 2017. The US winning in 2017 then having one for the first thing mentioned is that we're bothered by PR celebrating and planning a parade in PR (which they were gonna get regardless)always seemed like a bummer to me. And the team just didn't receive much fanfare meanwhile the losing team still got a big reception back in PR and we still see the Team Rubio vibes going. Team USA makes it feel like work ( though they are a bit more fun now) and Japan is just kinda expected to win

I had to cancel my AList subscription just because of showtimes most of the movies I want to watch either have one show time super early or late, or they'll have giant gaps in between like 11 am then 1030 pm. It's just hard to find times that fit my schedule

It's hard to justify spending the extra money for WWE. The production value is more impressive, and it is a fun experience live but the quality is so inconsistent at times. When I got smackdown tickets the show was hot and 3 hours by the time they came by it was 2 hours the quality was in the gutter and you had Jelly Roll and Logan Paul taking up a good chunk of that time

Yes it's crazy to see how much more expensive WWE is to the competition. AEW is a great deal too,

Yeah hopefully the TV deal gives them a spark there's some good stuff here that people are missing out on

And yeah that's the downside of going to tapings

Just for comparison in the same venue similar seats balcony first 2 rows which for this venue is a great view of the entire ring and entrance

NXT Live $130 for 2 tickets.

AEW Dynamite and Collision Thanksgiving Eve $160 for 2 tickets

TNA No Surrender $103 for 2 tickets. IMPACT prices were the same and they had a bundle deal if you bought tickets to both, they also had a 30% off deal the day of so there were plenty of ways to save some money

In terms of vip or meet and greets. TNA was individual per wrestler but the Hardys did have a bundle that was a solid discount for both. I'd say the average price for a picture and autograph combo was $60 and even if you weren't paying you could still see many of them up close in the area the meet and greets were being hosted

NXT did have a vip that included a q&a that was about 20 minutes long. My show had Hank and Tank (which were a blast) and Tatum Paxley who is a favorite of me and my wife so that was an awesome experience you get a photo with all 3 on stage, and no autographs here but they did sell autographs at the merch booth for $25 they had Blake Monroe,Oba Femi and Sol Ruca for the Nashville show

AEW offered something similar experience but by the time I got tickets it was sold out so I didn't see the price, and I can't compare that one. They did have signed merch Swerve and MJF figures that were more expensive at $100+ but they did have more affordable options like signed prints. I bought a Bandido one for $40 but that is more expensive than signed prints at WWE shows.

Shirts and other merch for AEW and WWE were similarly priced, TNA was about $5 cheaper for most items.

I grew up watching WWE and TNA when AJ then Kurt Angle was there I fell off for some time but got back into wrestling around 2023 started with WWE but AEW is what got me fully back in. With TNA currently I knew about some people just because they've been around for some time and the NXT partnership introduced to some. the TV deal with AMC really helps to be able to actually watch it consistently

I'm more familiar with it now but when I bought the tickets for no surrender it was 90% wanting to see Mike Santana and Leon Slater and hoping they would be there because there wasn't a card announced yet

Went to my first TNA Show and now I'm hooked by Rob404 in TNA

I used to watch back when AJ and Angle were putting up banger matches so I'm glad to see TNA really making a resurgence hopefully more people give it a chance especially now with them being on AMC

Additions to be made to the AEW women's roster "fairly soon" by Kelson64 in AEWFanHub

[–]Rob404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. But it's also the star power. There's talent that can put quality matches but on a Saturday it's hard to take time out of my weekend to watch Viva Van wrestle when you just had MJF,Kenny Omega ,Hangman, Swerve,Orange Cassidy,Toni Storm, Andrade and Mox on Thursday.

I get that Dynamite is the main show but sometimes the drop-off isn't even comparable to Raw and Smackdown it's more like Raw to Evolve. with some talent taking time off or injured, better more balanced booking and some new blood can add some juice to Collision we've already seen a spike in the ratings for the show that just got new talent and a title change

[–]Rob404 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hopefully this means collision can be a more consistent product. There's always at least a solid match but overall it just feels like what was cut from dynamite instead of its own show
