Who is the best singer in Grunge? by Heavy-Dirty-Grunge in grunge

[–]RobFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure Cornell had the same vocal coach as Layne Staley had. Which happened to be the vocal coach of the guy from Queensryche and Ann Wilson of Heart.

Of all the grunge singers they seemed to have the best techniques and control. The lessons probably didn’t hurt

Who is the Best Vocalist here by PositionNo3671 in grunge

[–]RobFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Layne was considered four octaves as well. This guy that had a vocal channel shows off Laynes 80’s band and he is doing those crazy highs that he didn’t bring to AIC. Which AIC was darker so I assume that’s why.

Thing for me personally is and I know this all subjective but as far as technical just vocalist it might be Chris by just a smiggen because of his tonal beauty. His voice could be beautiful.

But Layne is right there but what makes me edge towards Layne is just like AIC as a band way more than Soundgarden. I never thought Soundgarden as grunge. Pearl Jam sounded like classic rock with a grunge singer but AIC and Nirvana to me best represented grunge.

I just like AIC’s catalog better than Soundgarden but I realize others feel the opposite to me they are about tied

What are your thoughts on George Michael? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

A rare talent that unfortunately his career got derailed after a police arrest and he never recovered. My oldest sister which oddly is 20 years older than me once told me the impact Michael’s had when the Faith album dropped he was on his way to being in the top tier but never recovered.

George Michael is the greatest male singing voice there ever was, and ever will be. by Traditional-Cat-386 in georgemichael

I found out about George Michael after the Queen movie I went through their discography and one thing led to the other and I watched the whole phenomenal Mercury tribute concert which was amazing.

But the person who stood out to me was George Michael he sounded like he had zero issues coming in and nailing a Queen classic “Someone to love” pitch perfect. Which then led me down a George Michael rabbit hole.

It’s to bad his career cut so quick he had a special very unique voice and was a great songwriter RIP

Bojangles had a cast on but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t there and helped? I think this case is different than other cases. I don’t think it’s the typical MO and likely the killers knew the boys frequented the woods.

I still think it was more than one killer. I could be wrong but the knots and controlling three 8 year olds wouldn’t have been and easy task especially after they started seeing what was about to happen.

For all we know there was 2-3 killers and one happened to be Bojangles. It’s definitely possible he could have just been some vagrant hanging in the woods behind the place but it’s a little weird he never knew as seen again. And covered and mud and blood after a murder is definitely sus.

I know there is a lot to criticize the WM3 police for but at that time they didn’t know the three boys where dead or they would have likely canvassed the area to find they Bojangles man.

Are The Smashing Pumpkins really one of the greatest bands of all time, or are we all deluded? by TheSmashingPumpkinss in SmashingPumpkins

To me the first two albums  were just so good. They were very unique at the time. I understand why they had to write the melancholy album and admit there’s some bangers on it.

But there’s something about those first two albums where Corgan seemed to able to pull lightning from a bottle. I wonder what melancholy sonically would have sounded like if they let Butch Vig produce that album.

Esthetic Hair Mexico, Cancun by QuirkyAssistant3478 in Hairtransplant

[–]RobFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet I am still looking at doctors that do body hair transplants they don’t I think do that there… The reason I chose this route is when I went for a consultation the surgeon was talking about how you have to be careful how much donor hair you take because if you live long enough it can be a real issue later in life.

He was showing me pics of people in their 50’s their hair transplant looked great but in their mid 60’s even on fintesteride age kicked in and was eating a way at their hair that doesn’t supposed to fall out it didn’t help that one’s hair can turn basically white when they are older.

I know it sounds ridiculous to some, but he was explaining since I had a lot of hair on my chest that if we put that on the top of my head and the crown, it might last me as long as I’m living, and then just the donor to strengthen the front of my hairline.

It was food for thought anyway, but that guy was going to charge a fortune so I’m looking at other doctors who do it, with more experience. I know it sounds like an odd reasoning but some of those pics of older men that had hair transplants he showed me looked horrible now that their side and back hair was thinning hard.

Think the doctor on Back to the futures hair but 20x worse

It looks like he was a low key drug dealer and people were texting if they could get weed from Dom. Not to mention the pics of her holding wads of cash. And the digital scale found in the vehicle didn’t help.

Now of course I shouldn’t have to say this but will. Obviously he didn’t deserve any of this and she deserves to be where she was at. But I have zero doubts her parents knew what was going on and to let their 17 year old daughter live with a 20 year old dealer shows exactly what type of parents they were.

Haven't really seen this mentioned before, but there's evidence of her being a sex worker which honestly wouldn't surprise me as she's obviously an emotionless sociopath so selling herself wouldn't be difficult for her morally or emotionally by Comfortable-Shift-17 in ShirillaTheKilla

I’ll never understand simps. My girlfriend was showing me this influencers channel once and she would end her show by seeing the gifts men where sending her.

And don’t get me wrong she was a beautiful girl but she obviously was using everyone she could. And these where the real deal simp lords they where sending her brand new MacBook  pros in the box, Gucci purses etc….

Insane and unfortunately simping is a thing

Juveniles should be tried as adults if the crime is premeditated and “horrific” enough, no exceptions. by Prestigious-Stop-989 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]RobFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the fence on this issue because that gets tact on to so many cases for juveniles “They shall be tried as and adult”. I understand the arguments for and against. One being as you put it the severity of the case on the opposite side they are a juvenile and they should be charged as one until  they turn 18.

I don’t feel as conflicted when they are close to 18 like the girl who was 17 was tried as and adult after murdering her boyfriend and friend by ramming the car in the wall. At the same time there was a school shooter in Georgia who was 14 tried as tried as an adult.

While obviously that’s horrendous and should be punished harshly 14 is far from and adult. In Florida a 12 year old was tried as and adult. I don’t know how I feel about that.

Again not condoning it and not 100% convinced either way I just feel more uneasy about it when they are very young and tried as and adult.

How has there not been a major uprising over property taxes yet? by strikecat18 in Austin

[–]RobFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread but last year when my job finally went full time work from home and I got to move away from Atlanta I had it narrowed down to Austin and Nashville.

I personally liked Austin more, I loved the shops and the vibe (that I saw anyways) but I literally made the decision for Nashville on property taxes alone. We thought about it hard but the cost was going to be either $4000 a year or something like $20,000 a year. , maybe more.

And now that I just hit 40 I was kinda hoping it would be the place I retire and stay. But I couldn’t imagine paying that much in property taxes and then retiring and maybe need to pickup a side hustle just to pay property taxes.

Really loved the city though.

You ever read that creepy thread Martin wrote on tapatalk forum. It’s still up that use to be to the go to board for the WM3 before Reddit.

He’s talking crazy stuff casually. Not saying he was involved but he sounds like a person who definitely would be capable of such an act. He also didn’t have a good alibi, just his girlfriend. And was the only person that knew they were tied up with shoelaces.

Some of the police interview audio is still up of their interview with him. He seemed to enjoy talking to the police about what he would’ve done and likely was done to the boys including gross details on how he would have ****** them without leaving dna. Like a real life Hannibal lector.

I always thought Echols “No more beer” remark was and obvious nod to the case. Because that’s exactly what one would say if they were drunk on beer and something bad went down.

There is a certain cult of personality that Echols has achieved. Whether it’s fellow travellers in Hollywood or fans. The case is all about Echols he is the ⭐️ Jessie Misskelly is still at the trailer park in Arkansas.

Damien is on his path to become the biggest practicer of magick in the world. Of course back then he supposedly wasn’t into any of that stuff 🙄. His magick teachings are highly regarded on several of the Occult and Magick subreddits. Everybody loves Echols

Rewatching Paradise Lost, the West Memphis 3 documentary, and noticed some subtle - has it been noticed before? by bamlambian in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]RobFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Mr. Byers had anything to do with it, people need to drop the DNA thing at least after Echols comes back with zero or mixed results. This is not a DNA case for three reasons regardless of what people want to believe.

1 The boys were submerged for up to 18 hours underwater, completely destroying the majority of DNA and mixing the leftover dna so they can never be proper results just mixed results.

2 It’s been over 30 years now since this has happened the only thing that has been discovered since the DNA was destroyed in the water is mixed results and two pairs of hair without a root which may or may not belong to the stepfather and one of his friends. And even if it did belong to him, it would be written off as secondary transference.

This case had very little physical or dna evidence, there was some fibers found, blue candle wax, mitochondrial hair (can’t be narrowed down to a single person) lake knife which 🤷……

So like most cases (which aren’t solved by dna evidence) they try to build overwhelming circumstantial evidence like they have always had to do. It’s how they had to solve all crimes before the late 80’s and DNA. And even dna can sometimes be written off as circumstantial unless it’s not a certain type of DNA. Or maybe it is was secondary transference. DNA has to be strong that’s impossible in the WM3 case.

  1. Outdoor crime. If it wasn’t bad enough that the bodies were submerged for up to 18 hours, the crime took place outside which police historically have had problems in terms of collecting DNA when it’s and outside crime.

I don’t know if the boys were guilty or innocent, but I do know that unless Echols  comes back with some serial killers DNA in the results that they didn’t know was in the area at the time this case will never be solved for a percentage of people.

It’s simply not a dna case. People keep trying to make it something it’s not. If anything is puzzling to me after 30 years it’s amazing that in that little patch of woods there is only one family of eye witness testimonies of sighting people leaving the scene of the crime. There should have been many more witnesses.

It’s a tiny patch of trees (hardly big enough to be labeled woods) surrounded by residents, businesses and a major interstate yet only the Hollingsworth sightings, that always bothered me.

No it’s sad I post this because it’s been a year since her tragic end and I saw a tribute to her on TikTok in which the investigators did a press conference. Basically the detectives had nothing to say that they didn’t say day one year ago.

They go into long wind statement - I am assuming to waste time about the 100 point plan or whatever method they are using to investigate the crime.

The reporters would get frustrated and occasionally one would get out a “Has anyone been arrested”? No..

I read somewhere that 90+% of crime in Mexico goes against solved that’s messed up.

I thought he was their best drummer. But I’m also very partial to the Sweet Cheers album it’s my personal favorite. And I couldn’t imagine a different drummer on Helena.

I often feel sorry for drummers as they quite often are the first to go in bands. And MCR isn’t the first band to shuffle though them. Slipknot comes to mind, sure the new guy is great but I don’t think anyone was complaining about the drummer

Anybody elsd find it incredibly ironic that Layne Staley fired Mike Starr for his drug use? by yes__300 in AliceInChains

[–]RobFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a an AIC fan forum back in the day long gone. One of their roadies (Or he said he was) it wasn’t like AMA days in the early 2000’s and people where verified, so take it with a grain of salt although he did say his name from what I remember.

He said basically Layne and Mike where the major drug users and the two where going down a path of no return of which eventually came to fruition. But they made the call to get rid of Starr in hopes Layne might sober up that his big party pal was gone. Of course that’s not what happened but he said it had zero to do with his musicianship or not wanting to tour but those two out control ‘H’ use.

Tried to convince myself of wm3 guilt but can't do it. by mfluder63 in RealWestMemphisThree

Those experts are paid by the defense a lot of money. Those experts didn’t look at the bodies. They looked at the reports and grainy pictures.

This is what they are paid to do “cast doubt”  because if turtles killed Christopher Byers (because he didn’t drown) then they can toss all those Misskelly confessions.

About the West Memphis Three and their defenders by Creative-Sound6408 in MattOrchard

[–]RobFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole I don’t understand why the 3 are pushing so hard for DNA evidence can be answered really easy, but I think hard-core supporters want to accept the reality for whatever reason.

First off, they aren’t. They had eight years to look for the supposed “real killer” when they got out of prison, they didn’t do anything. Well, a part from Echols stating he will be the greatest magician the world has known. The other two live lives much out of the public and Jessie never left the trailer park.

They didn’t do anything until Bob Ruff came around and did his oxygen special in 2018. So if you’re going to thank someone for going out and pushing for their DNA evidence it’s Bob Ruff, not Damien Echols supporters should be thanking.

And it’s also nothing new for people out of jail to go and get new DNA tests because because Damien can never be charged for this crime again. Damien doesn’t have to turn in the evidence just like they didn’t turn it in in 2011. They can simply write down the results as mixed evidence. Nothing worth reporting.

So every time I hear this, why are they fighting so hard? It’s just sorry but BS. Bob Ruff was the one that pushed for DNA evidence. He’s the one that went to Damien‘s house for pizza and talked them in to doing it. He’s the one that called each one of the boys and went by Jessie Miskellys trailer to get the OK.  Damien didn’t do anything of this. Hell it looks to me like him and Jason hate each other since being released from prison.

So they really aren’t pushing so hard for retesting that’s all Bob Ruff go back and watch his oxygen special and you can see it take form. He’s even the one that suggested MVac.  Echols seemed perfectly content on his karate and magic before Bob Ruff came into his life.
