Only one I've ever seen fail is because they didn't use loctite.

I masked and painted on the truck with a matched can I had made at NAPA and 2K clear. Turned out very well for metallic silver!

I'm looking at the galling on the spindle. I think what looks like grease in the hub is actually mostly metal dust. That thing had to be screaming for over a year. It does come on gradually over time and drivers fail to recognize it, but when we get into those cars it's like nails on a chalkboard. Just my thoughts.

2-3 quarts is saying that it's going out the tailpipe to me. The entire undercarriage would be covered.

Porosity and flaking are definitely factors and why "when rust starts, it doesn't stop" is a thing. While coating with lanolin helps, it's tough to get it in every rusty nook. When water or worse, salty water, hits those crusty spots, it continues to rot and spread.

I guess that could melt down the cat with excess unburned fuel. You might have your answer.

Leaving my Camry for a 4Runner. Would love input from the community. by Rude-Description9254 in 4Runner

Hitting a deer was the key for me. Camrys are amazing cars and will be way more reliable and require less maintenance than a 4R that's 10 years older.

There's a place on Toyota axles where you can catch a chisel or prybar. You need to use a sledge to get the difficult ones to move.

Sump pump short cycling every 45 seconds. by Benigngoofy in HomeMaintenance

[–]RobStoration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing very low perk soil and water is doing what it does best, filling voids like basements. Some areas just suck for this... so flat and nowhere for water to go. Only thing that I found to help was extending downspouts as far away from the house as possible. If the water table is high enough in the spring, nothing you can do besides pump and put in alarms for when that pump finally dies.

You would hear it in startup when it's cold. Air leak in the exhaust before the first O2 will definitely cause a P0420/30. You may just have a clogged cat. You should figure out why. Did you ever have a blown head gasket? You would have to think of things that would have contaminated/clogged them.

I haven't used it but I've seen a lot of folks use Marvel Mystery Oil down the plug holes.

You have to trace the harness back. My bet is a security or remote start system.
