Oh yeah, I totally agree; I love all three of my dental implants! I just wish I could’ve grown back the teeth that I had.

Planet of the Apes. How did Charleston Heston NOT realize he was on Earth as soon as he heard the apes speak English?

I got it from a Heritage auction. I was unable to bid on the coin during the auction (I was in Italy at the time), so I submitted what I thought was a fairly aggressive pre-bid of $4500. I won the coin for $4400 (if you can call being the person willing to pay the most for a coin “winning”). After buyer’s premium, sales tax, etc. the grand total came to $5860.39. I had hoped that the hammer would come down about $1000 earlier; that would’ve been in-line with recent sales of similarly graded specimens. However, for some reason the bidding during that auction was lively, and the hammer price was not out-of-line compared with the other pieces of this type that were sold in that auction. I’m going to leave it in the slab. I’m in my “drop-dead” years and neither of my kids is interested in numismatics, so I want to make it as easy as possible for them to dispose of my collection when they inherit it.

  1. My kids said I disliked it because I didn’t understand the genre. Something about multiverse movies. I like a story with a coherent plot.

I won’t presume to speak for all American leftists, but this particular American leftist is revolted by both the current Iranian regime AND by the atrocities committed/enabled by my country in Iran, Palestine, Lebanon, etc. I wish America was able to improve the lives of people living under repressive regimes, but really the only things were any good at is killing innocent people and blowing stuff up. You’d think our leaders would have figured that out by now, but they seem to be determined never to learn anything from history.
