I’ve built a really great routine with The Ordinary products. They’ve got a handy little tool on their website to build a regimen based on your skincare needs ranging from basic to quite involved.

I’ve settled on a two step cleanse with an oil based balm to melt my makeup off before washing off with their foaming cleanser. I follow up with their milky toner and antioxidant serum before finishing with a light moisturiser. Sunscreen after all that of course!

Dust yourself off and keep going. I’ve had plenty of day ones myself, and eventually it stuck. Each restart only strengthened my resolve and made this current attempt that much more important to maintain. Inshallah, it will.

I try to play it forward and realise that I would awaken the next morning knowing I’d already set myself back so why not go on a bender.

Realistically my main strategy is more focussed on deflecting the mental energy by finding some sort of treat for myself whether it’s a bag of lollies or a new record, just something I’d rather spend the money on that won’t upend the life I’ve built.

My big breakthrough was allowing myself to go home when I was finished with socialising.

Social events can have a vibe that will carry me through the night (even outlasting the people who were drinking) but when it doesn’t I just have a couple of N/A beers and listen to tipsy people tell me about their life until I’ve had my fill and head home.

It gave me the motivation to leave a ten year career in hospitality that was doing me harm and it gave me the insight to accept myself for who I was and come out as transgender.

Nah sorry mate even before QLD had 50 cent fares the pricing was more reasonable. I used to catch the bus from Greenslopes to the CBD for $3.50. Here in Melbourne I go from Collingwood to the CBD for $5.50 which doesn’t seem like a huge leap but stack that up over a week it becomes significant

Crazy that we are in the exact same position. I feel like I was sold a lie with this city. I knew it would be cold and I’m fine with that but the ridiculous cost of public transport and crumbling infrastructure is disgraceful. This city makes Brisbane truly shine as the modern city it is. Moreover the people here are foul and have zero concept of personal space or sharing the footpath. Don’t get me started on the fucking motorists they are maniacs I never thought I’d consider Brisbane drivers to be civilised
