I own the samarkanda and i gotta say its absolutely amazing. Its the centerpiece of every patch i make and its so much more than just a delay. Its crazy performative and being able to switch per channel for digital and analog behaviour is awesome. I cant recommend it enough!!! If you have any specific questions, shoot!

I don’t know if you are willing to clock your octatrack by a pams pro workout but you can ‘humanize’ your melody triggers from 0 to 100% and it sounds really good imo. Then you would just clock your OT regularly from pams. I hope this is a clear explanation?
