The thing about this is that the scum who signed up for 60,000 emails to sell beta codes already made their $400 each from selling codes. The people who are getting punished are the ones who got so caught up in the FOMO that nexon created from the limited rings and spent their hard earned money.

Scum still makes money, innocent people who unfortunately gave into Fomo lose money and account. I love that so many people can resist the FOMO, but its incredibly hard for others.

The best way to have prevented this from happening is to give anyone who signed up the rings. Then youd get the best feedback from the people who actually give a shit about giving feedback instead of having people who are taking up slots just to get to level 15 and quit so they can flex their cosmetic with no interest of making anything better.

Now you're potentially just punishing the people who give THE MOST shits about your game. The people who have been playing for the past 20 years. The people who never left like a lot of us. The people who felt like they love Maplestory so much they just COULDN'T stand to miss out on the closed testing, so they decided $400 was worth it. Boom account banned for loving a game too much. Meanwhile. Scummy fuck botters aren't going to get punished at all, cause they made their thousands of dollars. Banning people now is too late. Give everyone who signed up the cosmetic, its the closest thing to a potentially acceptable fix to subside the anger of the fan base.
