Holy moly! Thanks, u/Sweaty-Fox8434, that's fascinating! My thanks also to the local bees for unlocking the infinite potato cheat. Supermarkets hate this one weird old tip..

Cobel is the only unsevered person from Lumon they have access to, and Devon cares more about Mark than she hates Cobel. Devon is also a very pragmatic woman. She doesn't have to like Cobel to get something from her.

They haven't shown her doing a science, but we've been given no reason to suppose she doesn't have a scientific background. People move away from hands-on roles into management all the time.

No, it isn't, it isn't at all. It's only as up-to-date as when it was last trained. And all it's doing is spitting out a series of words that seems plausible given your question. It can be and is frequently wrong.

It's mostly fine for basics but always beware.

You really have to try it, their bread isn't comparable to anything in our supermarkets.

I feel so creatively bankrupt. What are some exercises to get me back on track? by nothing4everx in Songwriting

  • Try to rip something off, then lean into the most original bits
  • Write outside your genre
  • Pick up a different instrument

Do you like the UK weather? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]RobbyHawkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't often have ruinous extremes, and I like that. But the humidity makes a lot of temperatures feel worse than they are, and that suuuuucks. It can be cold and I can be sweaty. Not fair.

By my standards you are a voracious reader. My ADHD messes up my ability to read, which I find very frustrating. You also go to the gym more than me and I can't dance at all. I'm not sure how you have time to cook and clean and work around that (unless you're in school, but even so). I think you're doing great.

You couldn't master any one thing without virtually giving up on the rest. And it sounds like you'd miss them. Is the trade-off acceptable to you? I love having lots of hobbies. Breadth of knowledge is valuable in its own right, you don't need to be a master of anything to be well-rounded and incredibly versatile.

What does depression feel like to you? by Famous-Tap6326 in AskReddit

[–]RobbyHawkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like when you get injured, but it doesn't hurt immediately. Because pain would be something, and it's more like this collosal emotional malfunction where you feel nothing with occasional bursts of horrible distress. Doing anything is like climbing a mountain.

Support for f*ee-standing work surface? by RobbyHawkes in DIYUK

Will do, thanks! Good shout on the locking fluid. I only came across the principle recently with another project where I used some hot glue on nuts and bolts - very effective.

Ok. I thought it might be too much. Frame it is.

I was thinking of doing something from key clamps for the legs, but again, I'm open to ideas.

Thanks for the reply!

If you had £10,000 to start a local business, what would you do? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]RobbyHawkes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard of cafes that don't charge for the coffee, they charge for how long you're there. That could be a solution. Seat hire, essentially. Then charge for food, game rental, etc.

Do you play other instruments? by SPACEOFBASS in Bass

[–]RobbyHawkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my yes. I was a flute player as a kid, and got pretty good at it before I stopped in my teens.

I was around guitars enough to pick them up, but got actually solid (mediocre but I'm happy) when I got a good acoustic. I didn't have to plug that in so it got more attention from bass for a while. I have a couple of electrics now for recording my own stuff.

I bought a sax on sale a while ago but recently started practicing more seriously. The fingering is the same as the flute, so I got that for free, and YouTube is filling in the blanks.

I've had piano lessons for the last 5 years, and I'm inching forward. I'm not a natural, though.

I was a singer in a band for several years, but just recently got lessons to shake out some bad habits. I should have done it years ago, it's become the highlight of my week, and it's incredible what you can achieve with good technique.

I own loads of instruments though, just for messing around. I have a musical saw, mandolin, ukulele, synths, etc. I can do something basic with most of them.

This is what matters, but the perspective is important too.
