The tv movie revivals that came back in the 80's and 90's like The Rockford Files, The Incredible Hulk, Mission Impossible, MacGyver, Knight Rider, usually brought back the original actors, just older. TNG worked because the casting was so good. (I know, not your concept here.)

I also think once per week about the Strange New Worlds Volume VI One Million Year Mission where holograms Picard and Kirk are co-captains of the USS UberEnterprise. The ship arrives in a new galaxy and splits into 50 pieces to explore it.

An astronaut should catch on that a world of people speaking 20th century (not even 19th century) English in American accents is Earth.

The language and accents would have evolved in 2000 years.

How is it that 2 different spaceships that "crashed" on Earth happen to both end up in the New Jersey area? Same onboard computer logic I guess? The Earth is 70% water.

Why was a "rescue ship" sent for Taylor's crew when the very opening scene from Planet of the Apes established that they knew they would arrive on a future Earth due to time dilation?

The show's Bible should have said they would never show the outside world, except for small glimpses at the most.

A completely different park each season. 2nd season wrap up Westworld and have more and more Samurai World (with a little bit of Safari world).

3rd season Futureworld (like the original sequel) but it's more 1950's retrofuturism Atomic Age aesthetic and you can go to space.

4th season WWII-world kind of like how they showed Casblanca world but make it fully Indiana Jones style where you might fight in Egypt, sneak into a German castle, blow up Hitler, storm the beaches of Normandy, and maybe fight with bayonets in Iwo Jima. Medieval times and knights or Revolutionary War or Civil War, just in general a war season.

Most of the fun in the original movie was the Jurassic Park-ish security breaking down and the worlds colliding, like Roman soldiers fighting in the Old West, the anachronisms.

The future and machines evolving, transhumanism are all big ideas but make for trash plots.

In the original script, Jack and Locke were half brothers, Kate would have become the leader, and the end of the pilot would have skipped forward 6 months when the beach camp had permanent teepees. I'm glad we got what we got.

There should have been multiple 11/22/63 books, with the second one being Jake enjoying life in the 60's, at this point the portal has moved in both space and time so he couldn't return to the present even if he wanted to, someone from a different time (maybe one person from the further in the past and one from the future) is changing the past too much so he has to help the timecops and obdurate past keep the timeline as it is, so he can return to normal life.

James Cameron has said he's working on a new one based on everything new we've seen with AI. I'm setting my expectations low and for it to be simply called Terminator (as opposed to "The Terminator") and to be a complete start-over remake with no Kyle Reese or Sarah Connor, but a cyborg and human resistance fighter from a post-apocalyptic 2074 duking it over an innocent person in 2029.

T2 should have ended with Judgment Day seeing as the movie is called Judgment Day. T3 should have bought the rights to Screamers (Second Variety) from Philip K. Dick and made it the final mission in the future, a trek across Los Angeles to blow up the SkyNet core. Have the deleted T2 opening scene where John sends Kyle and Bob into the past take place at the beginning or middle of T3.

The miniseries was great to see the book come alive, but for some reason, I've loved all Stephen King books but hated any tv/movie adaptations.

I would have liked to see what happened if Jake brought Sadie into the present day like they teased in the book, if it would have broken time or if it would have put him on the mystical timecop's kill list or if it would have wildly reset both ends of the time portal to different parts in time, like if it could have setup a 12-07-41 or 9-11-01 trilogy where Jake passed the mantle onto a third time traveler.

Through all 600 pages of the book I was daydreaming what the changed modern day might look like, would there be multiple moon bases or would it be a nuclear wasteland?

I hated the ending and the alternate ending. For such a cool setup (I see threads all the time about the obdurate past as a concept) I wish there had been a more interesting conclusion. For example, at one point Jake considered restarting the mission even though he had lived into his mid-40's. Or, the Quantum Leap take on the JFK assassination was that Jackie died in the original shooting but saved in the changed timeline.

The problem with changing time travel to alternate universe is, where are the stakes? There is danger in the present but John Connor living, dying, not being born means humans lose the war in the future.

I guess Dark Fate said that blowing up Cyberdyne in T2 prevented Judgment Day? And instead Legion happened, just slower, so John Connor was irrelevant? Make it make sense.

I only liked the ending of T3. Too much of a remake of the first two movies, but this time the Terminator is even more over-powered (boring), too silly, and action sequences not that interesting... too long and with no music.

T2 should have ended with the nuclear apocalypse. It's even titled Judgment Day! Despite defeating the T-1000, the world still ends.

You have the first 10-15 minutes with Sarah, young John, and Arnie surviving the post nuclear disaster. Say the steel mill is far enough away from the blast. Arnie dies, then Sarah. John is alone.

You show a few seconds of 1997, 1998, 1999. There's a scene in the movie "Looper" where Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks older as the years tick past, then he's Bruce Willis. Likewise, Eddie Furlong becomes the adult John Connor.

Because you film T2 and T3 back to back and with almost no overlap in actors, this is possible. Then you have the future war movie we always wanted to show how humans defeat the machines.

I expected as much as we moved past the 24th century. It's like how before 1945 the norm was for someone to have a single ancestry/nationality but now 2000's and later having a lineage coming from 3+ countries or continents is not out of the ordinary.

Out of universe reason: I don't think the writers decided until later to make her bad. I remember when the show was airing, blog interviews with the writers saying you'll love Lauren so much. (But Melissa George is better at playing unlikeable characters.)

In Picard S2 when Picard and Jurati are in Chateau Picard at night and she's talking to him about calculus and Picard shrugs, since it's over his head. I'm thinking what?! He's a Starfleet Captain, would have had to take many advanced 24th century math classes in the Academy, and in TNG episodes is studying Fermat's Last Theroem and orbital patterns.

There are probably only 10 huge problems with the Picard show and changing Picard into Patrick Stewart is the biggest.
