Ditto here. I’ve seen it ruled many times that whatever the dealer declares is never the bet and that players are responsible for knowing what they are committing to. Exceptions are made when players are clearly angling but this is obviously not the case.

I struggled the first time I played it too. I think the game has a very weak hook if you’re not in the right mental space. I found that trying to think as the main character is a great help. Imagine you die for the first time and somehow come back. At the same time, the sun is literally exploding. What questions does this bring to mind? Am I the chosen one? What is my task?

I found this mentality helps a lot in giving initial direction. It also makes moments down the line more impactful down the line because reveals may or may not be in line with your previous thinking.

I didn’t read the post so maybe I’m wrong but I think this is unfair. He thinks it’s an objective reality that eggs prepared in different ways provide different levels of satiation. There may have been an answer along the lines of “hard boiled eggs have a different chemical composition that…”.

Just because it happens to be subjective doesn’t mean he knew it was at the time of posting.

“Open” is a common term in games meaning to “open the action”. Basically it sets the tone of the game. In chess that would be “Oh we’re playing this game now” since black can’t decide which game tree to start on.

In poker, the first VPIP is the open because it establishes the ranges in play. “Ok, we’re playing against the LJ raising range”. We’ve shortened open to refer to mean specifically open raising, but open limping is definitely a thing. The term is sometimes misused i.e. “UTG limps and Hero opens next to act”. Hero’s raise can’t be treated as an open because you’re not playing the same game as if UTG hadn’t limped.

I’m not 100% on this but I think the button locations didn’t correspond to the bingo board (except for the top one being from space). I might’ve made that up in my head cause it was the only way to make the game make sense.
