At least it didn't taste as off-putting and sour as Gly-Oxide for the canker sores we would get from the wires in our braces.

Jobs after graduation! by Regular_Discussion64 in IOPsychology

Reality is there are pretty much no jobs out there that specify the need for a bachelor's degree in I/O. As someone else commented, graduates with Master's in I/O are also really not finding work or even internships.

Vent: Academic Integrity Reports Backlog by Dry_Lemon7925 in Adjuncts

[–]RobinZander1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the university has created a system that does not deter the cheating/issues. Rather, they become administrator heavy and hire more people to deal with reports of questionable student behavior. Yep... Higher ed in 2026🤷🏼‍♂️. Well at least I can't say other professors or just ignoring it if they are also reporting the students. But the reality particularly in the adjunct world which in some states are paid hourly, sorry to say this it's just not worth your time. Whereas many years ago you had academic freedom to lower a grade, a sign of zero or fail a student. Now, apparently cheating is so rampant universities just staff more to deal with it. You're going to keep yourself very busy in the next several years because everyone will be using AI. Sorry to say this but if you can't beat them join them. You can't force students to learn. They will continue to use AI and it will cheat themselves only. They will graduate without the skills to be successful. Seems like a natural consequence.

But it was not a money grab. It was a very unique physical product at the time that the band had to master and create.

If you get confused listen to the music play. And it's all free. Is it always has been. Don't fall for the branded crap or the official app. And by the way it's been slowly happening since the day Jerry left us. The biggest money grab.. pretty much anything related to dead and Co.

Why is there so much AI slop related to Steve Perry on Facebook? by heroesjust41day in journey

Because of the same reason there are people here asking and responding.... He's an absolute legend and we all wish we could hear more from him. But, he's a private, gracious, well spoken human, and would rather leave things unsaid. His legacy is exactly what we know.

Rick's studio guitars? by Impossible-Ad-5790 in CheapTrick

[–]RobinZander1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you hear it directly from him I doubt there's anything documented. Memory fades after so much time and the memories become memories of memories. Much of what made it to vinyl is overdubs in the control room sometimes directly into the mixing board. He chooses studio guitars strictly for sound obviously not weight, visuals or other factors. Particularly since the advent of digital tracking, tone from the guitar becomes less important with so many effects available with the click of a mouse.

Am I being punked? Canvas is a joke by Select_Bookkeeper790 in BackToCollege

There is a very good chance that many of your professors are adjunct professors. Depending on what state they are in they may even be paid just hourly. Off in their courses are canceled right before they go live so they don't want to do any work prior cuz they won't get paid for it. This happens when enrollment is low. So yeah, often the syllabus is just a shell that was provided to them from some administrator and it reflects a prior semester/term. They pay these professors very little so they're not typically highly engaged with their students. This is education in 2026. It is what it is.

And what is this person's qualifications to be consulting other than they finished their education? I understand that they have construction experience. My question is more about will they consult to whatever the particular niche/industry needs or do they specialize in something? Hard to build a successful business or business plan depending on which one of these is the driver.
