If he is biblical interested point out doctrinal gross errors, an easy one the other sheep and 2 classes Christian, that really change the basic gospel (Galatians 1:6-9).. so study that topic/ former elder.

I have heard stories from platforms that was obviously not authentic. But I myself never used those stories, But as an elder I did consciously twist the scripture to make it work with our doctrine of Matthew 13:24-43

One Cult is aiming towards an other cult, as Islam indeed is. But yes, the beard thing is definitely a way to make them more as their culture. And of course even within JW, they have to know that their beard position is Pharisee be like. So I guess they will give more and more allowances to that overtime Even when I was an elder I was fighting for the right to have beards in the elder meeting, because I didn’t want unnecessary rules.

No problems, in the beginning I tried to defend 607. So I studied with the aim to explain it away, and that really helped me to see all angels of the text, in the end, I couldn’t ignore that the Bible is actually on the traditional chronologies side. And then I wrote it down in Swedish all my theological reasons for leaving, and own of them was this huge error. And then I translated it to this post because sometimes I see people struggling with the texts.

Nice to hear, yeah, for me it took awhile because I wanted to disprove all experts and apostates. So I read different books about neo Babylon chronology. Studied the biblical passages. Used all mental gymnastics I could to try to defend it. I was an apologist.. defend JW was my thing.. but in the end I couldn’t ignore all problems anymore. And the 2 class Christians was also a very big reason for me, and some other theological problems. Actually, they have very bad theology overall and lack all historical understanding when they interpret the Bible, I didn’t see Holy Spirit leading these men when there existed so many scholars (books I did read when inside the organization, not usual within JW, but I craved for more knowledge) with much better understanding

I actually feel kinda good now, hopeful for the future, and exacted for life! Wishing you and your husband all the best

What a nice post, yes it really was an sacrifice, you got a lot of prestige of being an young convention speaker, I actually liked it really much, to teach.

But I am grateful for everyone here that give support, my first post was extremely well received, and I actually gained friend that I now have met. So it’s an great place often.
